Players who might improve us

His xA/90 is 0.23, with 0.42 assists per 90, meaning most of his assists are massively inflated.

Foden, who most are unhappy with in terms of creating, is at 0.29xA/90.

Numbers are numbers as you say.
Yup and I used real numbers not expected numbers. Those theoretical stats are inherently flawed because there are players that over or under perform these metrics for various reasons.

You think Liverpool is upset that Salah only has xA of 7 this year or ecstatic that he's contributed 17 actual assists so far in the prem?

"Players that over or under perform these metrics for various reasons"

Okay, you dont understand what they mean, theres no conversation to be had here.

If you say so.

Players that over or under perform the "expected goals or assists" will always exist.

A guy like KDB will generally always outperform his xG because of the types of shots he takes. A screamer from out of the box, for example, will have a less xG than a tap in. I'm pretty sure this is the only year he hasn't over performed in that metric.

xA is similar. It's impacted by different things such as type of pass (cross, through ball, etc), type of action (open play, set piece, etc), where the pass is played on the field, distance, etc. So a guy who's considered a good crosser, for example, would likely put perform his xA because it's a lower value pass than others.

Thats NOT how xA works...

It is directly related to the quality of a chance you create, you dont interpret it similar to xG.

So if you overperform your xG, you are considered a good finisher (assuming enough minutes are played).

But assists relies on the goal scorer, so comparinf xA to assists is not as useful to see how good a creator you are, assists can be contributed to a player who did almost nothing.

xA is the proper measure for chance creating.

I would like to see the following players on our shortlist at the very least...

Lucas Chevalier
Brice Samba

Dean Huijsen
Ousmane Diomande
Murillo

Angelo Stiller
Exequiel Palacios
Tijjani Reijnders
Ayoub Bouaddi

Florian Wirtz
Rayan Cherki
Alex Baena
Maghnes Akliouche
Nico Paz
Kenan Yildiz

I'd really like to see us go in for some South American wonderkids and get them nice and early like we did with Echeverri and Reis...

Franco Mastantuono
Ian Subriabre
Heard good things about Breno Bidon too.

Adam Wharton will be expensive, Baleba will probably cost about 100m too. Can't see Newcastle selling Bruno Guimaraes either, think we missed the boat with him once his release clause was up.

Can you add headers to the groupings?

I see Goalies, Centerbacks, CMs and Playmakers generally plus young S.A talents.

Where are the fullbacks? ;)

We really need to bring him in.

If he had 1 good season with City, the next summer he will start talking about his dream since the first day of his life to play for Madrid.

"We all know my dream club is Real Madrid. Joining the biggest club in the world would be great."

If he improves us and we make a decent profit on him, I don’t see the issue.

To be fair there aren't any full backs that stand out for me.

I think Antonee Robinson would be a good addition though.

I do really love Kerkez, but I think he's Liverpool bound.

Not sold on Cambiasso, but he does sound like a proper Pep player.

If we brought in these two, I'd be more than happy.
