Holidays

Never fancied going to Greece or any of the islands. The In-laws wanted to go away and my wife was keen to have a week with them so we went to Skiathos ( I didn't get a say, but they offered to pay for the kids!!!!!) and it was fantastic.
me neither, but we took a chance and had a great holiday with the grown up pan-lids in 2022 on Rhodes in an All Inclusive Resort - that wasn't that fantastic, but Rhodes Old Town is amazing!

Day two in Seville.
Absolutely chucked it down on arrival but a not too shabby 19degrees here today.
Caught the metro into the City and saw the splendid Playa de Espana.

I’ve got a few days holiday in April and the missus and kid are away so I’m planning a solo jaunt for 4 days or so.

Was thinking of Berlin or Budapest at first but winter has been that drab I’m thinking of Spain now.

The plan is Malaga for a couple of days and Seville for a couple of days. Alternatively Palma and see a bit of Majorca (Soller/Pollensa)

Other than that anyone got any other 2 centre places that might work. Preferably with a temperature over 17 degrees or so.

My mate’s there at the moment and he has been sending me photos/reports. He’s had a lot of rain!

Is it living up to expectations so far?
The City Centre is very picturesque with some amazing architecture. The Metro is so easy to use and adds to mobility. Tomorrow is supposed to be 22degrees :-)
@Millwallawayveteran1988 - if I was staying longer I would have loved to go to Cadiz.

Granada is a great city if you're around Malaga. Alicante is worth a look too, and the tram along the coast makes it easy and cheap to get around. Palma is great too. Good luck.

This is a shout out for @FogBlueInSanFran we are visiting San Francisco in a few weeks and I asked him by p.m. for a few pointers as to where to go and were not to go in the city, well blow me down he sent a really detailed description of places to go in San Francisco and even suggested a possible meet up ...this has saved us hours of research mainly done usually by my wife, so she would like to extend her thanks to him for all the wonderful information.

What a truly nice guy he is. :)

Cheers Bill! I appreciate the kind words. Hope to see you out here! It’s a great city to visit. And happy to pay it forward for the many Mancunians who have been so kind to me on my visits out there!

Yes, we flew into Malaga at Christmas and went to Granada. That's a good trip, which we did specifically to see the Alhambra.

Also last month we went to Alicante and took a day trip out to Elche, which was very nice with the old buildings and the El Palmeral park.

You haven't met him yet.....

Marton Mere next week, and fair to say that we're soiling ourselves with anticipation and glee. A silver caravan plus, with a upgraded overhanging balcony for the inclement weather. Aging years, but as Ipswich is financially out of the question, we'll have to settle for Second Best.

Blackpool Romantically Rocks!

Final day in Seville.
We are about a five minute walk from the first/last Metro stop at Olivar de Quintos. Always guaranteed a seat into the City Centre.
Somehow managed to book a guided tour of the Cathedral at the last minute but Salazar was booked out. The tomb of Christopher Columbus-wow!!!
After a glorious day yesterday @22 degrees it’s teatime and pissing down.

Rookie error! You definitely need to book the popular attractions like the Alcazar in advance. Glad you are enjoying it though. Great photos, the tomb of Colombus is great, as is the orange courtyard.

When we went to Rome two years ago, despite thinking we were ahead of the curve, we were shocked to find out that the Colosseum tickets were sold old 3 weeks in advance (which is usually plenty of time for booking stuff in most cities).

Fortunately, there were some left on Get Your Guide and we got in. Would have been kicking myself if we missed that.
