Holidays

Can you please share the name of the hotel?
We were thinking to go there in February
Sahara beach resort.
Some bits are a little bit tierd internally.
But the external part of the hotel is amazing.
Two massive pools.
Right on the beach.
It's a brilliant place

Quick question:

Awful month and a planned break had to be put on hold as my mother was very ill (and sadly passed away).

I want to book a week away somewhere. My daughter wants to go back to Cornwall as we missed it this year (and we love going) but no chance I'm going in October so will wait till May next year for that.

However, she's not keen on travelling to Europe (she's autistic and has given no reason for not wanting to go) but my son (13) will.

So it's a uk break somewhere, or a trip to somewhere abroad (I do fancy Palma - a mix of a rare pool holiday but with a cultural addition in Palma).

Was told to steer clear of booking.com but where else do I go (I'm hoping for next week, or the week after at the latest). Package holiday (with little time to research how decent the hotels may be) or find a deal on a hotel then find a flight?

Jump on the traditional high street Travel Agents? Use Sky Scanner?

I have a budget of around £1.5k tops and it's been so long since I've left the UK I've lost touch in holiday booking.

Any advice would be (as ever) greatly appreciated.

holidayhypermarket.co.uk Worth a look, it's where TUI sell their 'bargains', I've booked a couple off there, transfers & luggage included in the prices.

Also if you book flights separately via skyscanner or wherever you could try airbandb for some decent accommodation, just make sure you read reviews on the places and you should be right.

Good shout - will give this a whirl (and I'd forgotten about TUI).

Thanks mate.

Jet2 are a good operator and if you join their email listings you can get 10% off their flights and 15% off all their holidays. But do check to see if their deal is actually a deal in the first place by comparing other carriers offerings

As you mentioned Holiday hypermarket are TUI in disguise with cheaper pricing. Check also to see if its cheaper by booking on an app. Like many the Hypermarket allow further discounts to NHS workers.

I always use skyscanner, search one way only and then the return separately. Also search the whole month and pick the cheapest day if you're flexible. A flight could be £40 one day but £100 the next.
Find accommodation with Airbnb or Booking. Com, we've never had issues with either. Last week we found flights to lanzarote for £37 out and £43 return.

Looking forward to Crete next international break hopefully Manchester Airport will be better than the last time we used it.

Added bonus that I've found out after booking is that my lads RAF squadron has a memorial from WWII less than half a mile from where we're staying.
