PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

If they have come to a verdict..which I guess they have .what's the hold up.
Surely it's a simple as that.
Is it they are that scarred to tell the cartel they have lost.
Imagine the dippers reaction.
If anything goes against them they cry and cry and go on and on till it gets either forgotten or reversed
Or do they know the minute they announce we are not guilty the whole lot is coming down..we could and should wipe the fucking floor with every fucking one of them

Exit strategy face saving exercise for either the club or the PL? Although the way the PL have behaved I doubt they wouldn't be able to contain themselves if they got any type of win.

In an ideal world sure but we are talking about football politics and the future of the club resting on a 3 man tribunal. CAS had a similar 3 man panel and 1 still sided with uefa despite the report stating 12 times that no evidence of disguised owner funding was proven.

The arena is insufficient to deal with serious allegations of fraud. Again I get the confidence.

My point is more to do with the leaks. Having read most of this thread, the charges are very serious and the bar so high that proving we did what’s alleged is very slim to no chance. So yes I get the confidence element again from the outset.

We either know or the club is in the dark regarding a verdict. The lawyers can be confident but again unless they have read the verdict then in the dark like the rest of us.

Can the club and its general counsel be that confident despite not knowing the verdict and despite all of the above?

Someone must be talking for city to act in this way. It’s only my thoughts today. Probably load of bull.

Yes with transfers
Yes with Haaland deal
Yes with stadium expansion
Yes because we have not broken any legal or financial rules.
Yes Cliff has rocked up with his blue balls out -:)
Either way City are confident that's all that matters for now.

There was nothing of interest in the embargoed press conference that was released at 10.30pm.
Won’t be either. It will end up like CAS. A journalist leak the day before the official announcement.

I don’t think we realise how seismic this result will be felt around the footballing community.

The APT verdict and even CAS was open to some much interpretation by everyone including our enemies. The tribunal would need to make sure this issue can be settled once and for all.

How does the club win and appease the cartel? Answer that and you will be closer to the verdict imo.

I'm convinced if they had won it would be everywhere now.
Like you say they would love nothing more than stop us and one of the cartel win the league.
It's actually that bent it makes you sick

They’re not exactly going to be briefing/leaking that they’re NOT confident though, are they. The only thing city could leak is that they’re confident, even if they think they might be about to get relegated. There is so much at risk, including very very high profile jobs. So again, either way, confidence is the only thing g they could possibly portray right now

The police currently have the photos.

Sorry :)

War and Peace

Leo Tolstoy, Anthony Briggs (Translator), Orlando Figes (Afterword)

Widely considered the greatest novel ever written in any language, War and Peace has as its backdrop Napoleon’s invasion of Russia and at its heart three of the most memorable characters in literature: Pierre Bezukhov, a quixotic young man in search of spiritual joy; Prince Andrey Bolkonsky, a cynical intellectual transformed by the suffering of war; and the bewitching and impulsive Natasha Rostov, daughter of a count. As they seek fulfillment, fall in love, make mistakes, and become scarred by battle in different ways, these characters and their stories interweave with those of a huge cast, from aristocrats to peasants, from soldiers to Napoleon himself.

In this first English translation in more than forty years, Anthony Briggs faithfully reveals Tolstoy’s art in stirring prose, clearing up ambiguities that have plagued many modern translations. This volume also includes an afterword by eminent historian Orlando Figes, a list of characters, descriptions of the three main battles, chapter summaries, and notes. Both epic and intimate, a compassionate portrait of humanity and an engrossing read, this is the War and Peace of choice for a whole new generation.

Risky, especially with spending £200 million on transfers. On the outside, city appears to be a club going about their business. As you said what else can we do? The confidence is seen as a signal that the club thinks its evidence is enough but they must have more than a wink and a nod from a KC?

Anyway, it don’t really matter. I have always held the opinion that the charges are bullshit underhanded behaviour from a few clubs.

Does they club unofficially know the verdict? that’s a question we can’t seem to get to…soft signals or indeed know nothing more than a confident KC’s steer.

Anyway, sorry for derailing the thread with my musings. Whats the latest topic? Chicken curry recipes or still muffin debate? -:)

It was always about the red cartel clubs having their nose pushed out of joint.

Remember that these FFP rules that got brought in was to protect the red pricks but the 180 that has happened has indirectly gone against them and has caused them to point their guns at us.

The polarised opinions of both pro/anti-City agendas on this are blinkered.

Did the status quo want to suppress rogue competitors for ‘their’ honours with obstructive new rules and criteria? Absolutely yes. Did we take the piss with creatively mobilised AD central funds and likely fall into traps? Also yes.

What’s more damning: petrodollar rich Arabian states throwing their wealth around to create best-in-class super clubs, or the fact that that’s seemingly the only way to compete with the previously perpetual top 6?

They set that standard, so our owners obliged.

i realise it's a popular modern thang to do,
but i honestly cannot get my head around why people ask questions they already know the answers to.

perhaps you could explain this approach to me.

wouldn't it be more succinct to simply state what you're attempting to say?

along the lines of...

the status quo wanted to suppress rogue competitors for their honours with obstructive new rules and criteria.
we took the piss with creatively mobilised AD central funds and likely fell into traps.

you clearly know how to form articulate sentences
and are obviously in possession of some large words.
so what's it all about?
i'm genuinely interested.

edit:
feel free to say...

should i tell you to fuck off?
absolutely, yes.

An alternative is “Whore and Piss” a tale of an American president in thrall to his country’s enemies.
