No I still maintain it shouldn't be this bad, it's not just the results, it's the slow rubbish souless Football, I wish the fall out was like his first season for City, it was ageing squad that needed a rebuild but still played the most entertaining Football in the league and easily qualified for the CL, this is something else completely.
At least we could score loads back then.

Going down a similar route to Arsenal fans here and Juve fans. Where the fanbase was spilt in two, Wenger in and Wenger out and Allegri in and Allegri out.

Torn here, there were real signs of progression against Newcastle, we utilised three of the new lads perfectly. And I thought we were 2/3 top signings away from being really very good again.
The Pep has basically refused to revert to that style of play. Constantly reverting back to this one paced narrow system that makes look poor in both attack and defence.
Today, the team was screaming out for width. De Bruyne looked like he’d never played football before and is sadly just not at it anymore.
Him doing 95 minutes today is inexplicable.

On the flip side though, we have suffered horrendously with injuries and a real regression in key players.
Not only the amount of injuries, but to whom and when. Couple that with the general exhaustion of the squad, there’s a reason no one has won it 5 times in a row. We have been deep in every competition every year. Look at Liverpool this season, their legs have already gone.

Pep working with a small squad is great when all is going well, but it’s stagnated a bit, players are fucked, we’ve asked them to go into battle one too many times.

There’s a cracking xi whenever everyone is fit and fresh, and add 3/4 quality players in the summer and we’ll be building again.

But today, might have been his worst game/performance for us.
If we repeat that vs Palace, we’ll get buried, rags being utterly shite was our only savior tonight.

It’s 150m-plus now on three midfielders- - Phillips, Nunes and Gonzalez - and none of them could get into that midfield today, as bad as it is.

And yet some on here don’t want to place any scrutiny on the club’s decision making, and have a hissy fit when others do.
To be honest that’s on pep. Gonzalez is better than both gundogan and kovacic ad I’d argue nunes is too at the moment.

That's on him as is this entire season.

I'm getting concerned that he isn't going to change anything and we'll see a similar season regardless of who comes in or goes in the summer. The players aren't the issue when the tactics are so poor.
I said it in the match thread, some targets would be pretty hesitant to sign with us if we continue the way we are. Playing this way and not even getting into CL is just not an attractive prospect to get behind.

We’ll find out I suppose cos hes definitely earned the right. Here’s hoping but I fear this summer bollocks will fuck us up again. Everyone involved in the first team is desperate for a break.

This and if it’s called out it’s not tolerated. Need to wake up.

Injuries haven't helped especially losing a Ballon d'Or winner.
Yes I agree mate, I said I have no problem with us not challenging for the title this season, but he's made things worse with everything he's done, game management, player management, rubbish tactics with a suicidal high line and slow boring ineffective Football, and playing his favourites who are nowhere near good enough anymore.

Been my fear for a few months now but anyone who questions pep gets told the usual trophy list and he’s the greatest blah blah which is true of the past but not so good when you need action now .

I’d love to see us plug 5-7 new players into this team (basically refresh the average age of the squad) and all of a sudden dominate again but I just don’t think it’s going to be that easy.

It’s very obvious to see that there is a certain way to set up against us that 90% of prem teams have now adopted and we consistently struggle with it. I want to see the adaptation starting now, but maybe Pep is just holding his cards close to his chest. I really hope that’s the case.

Think guardiola’s 100 plus back room staff will be incredibly concerned about their futures ! And so they should be , end of an era !! But tbh that’s just my humble opinion ;-)

Absolutely my fear also.
It's my fear that we bring in a new manager with Peps players and we're even worse than this year. History tells us that it's a huge risk and an almost impossible task in replacing a legendary manager.

He's not beyond criticism but Pep has absolutely earned the right and our accompanying patience to try to put this right and I'm sure he'll want to do that.

To put all the blame on him and pointing to his tactics as the reason is a bit much. I see this season as a collective failure of poor recruitment planning, injuries, player motivation and Pep's stubbornness

But he has my support because life after Pep won't be as rosy.
