Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Where have you been the last 15 years? I live on the south coast but I have read so much about City’s owners improving the area, the club supporting local communities, children with special needs and education. Everything I have read suggests the whole area will be free access all areas, apart from hotel and the stadium. Are you under the influence?
I have lived 5 mins walk from the stadium for the last 15 years. The article is about the arena looking for planning consent on their food area next to the canal, so Im talking about the arena not City. City engage with the community and will allow us to use facilities around the campus, they also invest in local schools and charities. The arena dont.

It`s only been open months though?!

The coop arena will give 1 million to charity every year, seen as you only live 5 minutes away you ain't clued up?
P.S the 'Street' bar inside the arena has been open numerous times on match days for City fans to use.

No Id like them not to block wheelchair access to the canal and allow the external areas to be accessible when there are no events on

That's a fair point. Hope it's been made to them also, though obviously zero idea if it'd make any difference.

Excellent that the priorities are spot on, build build build and charge everyone more for the privilege.

Out of all of the questions on the tip of everyone's lips we have this..

A planning application for the development on the south-facing terrace of the imposing arena building will be submitted to Manchester City Council after the exhibition, the spokeswoman said.
The canalside cafe would be available for use as a "pre-event" area for ticketholders, and there would be accessible toilets and baby changing facilities, she added.

I thought we had already done this ?

The story quoted above dates from 2021. I suspect he meant to link to this one: City Football Group and Oak View Group launch Eastlands Venue Services joint venture, which is dated one day ago begins as follows:

City Football Group (CFG) and Oak View Group (OVG) have today announced the launch of Eastlands Venue Services, a new joint venture to create a fully integrated service and operations company.

The joint venture will operate 365 days-a-year across the Etihad Campus, with an initial focus on catering services for both Manchester City Football Club and Co-op Live arena.
