What on earth does Vance think he is doing calling people peasants. What an absolute clown. And Musk calling Navarro a moron, I guess it takes one to know one. Hopefully we are seeing the first signs of this terrible American administration falling to pieces.

Well Musk isn’t wrong about that. I’d be curious about what @Alvin-blue-qhd thinks (or is hearing) about this.

Its just ignorance and bloody dam right rude, shocking coming from a vice president. The only thing words like this do is damage US China relations? Surely the US media are all over this?

Can't really get it. Because of the translation.
We know it's a offensive term, but it's hard to translate it into a Chinese word to make Chinese feel it.
So...
(Agriculture is a matter of great importance in China. If you're a farmer, you may not earn much. But discriminating against farmers is considered shameful behavior.)
We do have words like "乡巴佬" but it's like a "dead words" no one use it in daily life.

Before I knew the context I guessed he was talking about people in his home state complaining about the price of eggs.

So calling Vance a "schmuck" wouldn't mean much in China? (Other words are available.)

This word is ... I need a dictionary...
I think the overall public sentiment is more focused on domestic policies, I mean the countermeasures. We don't pay much attention to Trump and Vance. Partly due to the low expectation? We have been in the trade war for 8 years.

Didn't Navarro write a few books based on tariffs being the best solution. But he used an anagram of his own name (Ron Vara) when citing his sources?

The Trump administration still used his books as evidence despite being aware of all of that.

They are all morons.

Just found this. About 6 minutes in...

I read that. Referenced himself lol.

she doesn't know how to hold a weapon and the guy to her left is edgy as fuck once he realises she is pointing it at his right temple from a range of about 6 inches

Who needs elections?

In North Carolina, Democratic Associate Justice Allison Riggs won the Supreme Court race by 734 votes.
Now the seat may be handed over to the Republican candidate, Jefferson Griffin.
The results were razor thin. 5.5 million votes were cast. There were two recounts.
But Jefferson Griffin challenged the legality of 65,000 votes, widely believed to favor Allison Riggs. Their disqualification could tilt the outcome in Jefferson Griffin's favor.
The case was sent to the Court of Appeals.
Jefferson Griffin currently serves on the Court of Appeals. He recused himself from the case.
Newsweek reports that Griffin's protest had challenged over 65,000 ballots across three categories. In two of those categories, voters can still salvage their ballots by submitting the required information, such as photo ID, within 15 days.
But in the third category, ballots cast by overseas voters, including military members, the panel voted 2-1 that those votes should not be counted at all.
Those two votes were cast by Jefferson's Republican colleagues.
The case is now expected to be appealed to the state Supreme Court, where five of the six justices are Republicans.
If the state appeal fails, Allison Rigg's legal team has indicated they may take the case to federal court.

The most shocking thing about this is Jefferson Griffin recused himself from the case.
