Holidays

a bit jealous! Some days feel heavier than others, and I’ve learned that it’s okay to ask for help. In fact, it’s necessary sometimes. I used to spend hours stressing over how to phrase every paragraph just right. Now with academized https://academized.com/order-research-paper supporting me, I can redirect that energy into things that restore me—like taking care of myself, being with family, and actually enjoying my free time again.

Anyway the ship docked in Yorkys Knob today, short bus ride into Cairns, one of my favourite places.
Lovely scenery, lush and tropical. We're overnighting so mooching around Cairns today and maybe Port Douglas tomorrow.
This really is scenic.

I'm looking for a tee shirt that says "I love Yorkys Knob"

Has anybody visited Helsinki? As me and the wife are thinking of going Boxing day until New Years Day
I went with a mate when City played Arse (0-2).
Didn't really explore the City due to lack of time.
Went to a railway museum and they have a single car tram running round the city which is a mobile bar.
Beer was around 2 - 3 times what it cost in the UK back then, so I guess €15 a half litre would be about the norm now.
There were some well populated waterfront cafes as I recall.

Well I’ve had a fun day today…..NOT

Set off from hotel at 9.30am. Airport in Lanza for 10am. Few problems with flights due to crosswind/Visibility.

Flight inbound couldn’t land so landed in fuerteventura.

Delay 4 hrs.

Get on plane - very slow to get bags on. Time now pressing due to crew hours.

Taxi to runway. Plane Pulls off at last min and goes to some holding place. 1.30 hours later - boiling hot, no water, one announcement at the start then nothing.

Finally captain comes on and says we will be taking off and will update us on the new flight plan when in air !

20 mins after take off- announces we are heading to MALAGA! (Ironic really as that’s almost where I went in the first place)

Didn’t stay in Lanza due to lack of hotel space and thought about Cardiff but couldn’t get clearance from Tui to do that!

Get to Malaga - no Tui rep in sight and passport fella had to cross off the stamp in the passport that we had at Lanza so took an age.

Finally rep shows up. One coach for 200 people. Shambolic organisation. Kids, older people, 5 with disabilities and needing assistance.

Me to rep after an hour. “Where are we going to be staying as I’ll just get a cab” -

“no idea”

After an hour I just bin it off, book a room at a cheap ibis near airport.

Get email off Tui, new flight 4.30pm! (Meaning getting home almost 36 hours after departing!)

Fucked it off and booked on early easyJet.

What a day…

So apart from that everything else went tickety-boo?

On your own? Any reason for that?
I used to go abroad quite a bit by myself when I was single. I would recommend it to anyone that has the opportunity to do it under any circumstances. It is really self-liberating and quite an experience. Just book a long weekend off work and take a flight out to somewhere. After the first time, you start to treat flights like buses.
