Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I’d do just about anything to go back in time and play this season over again with Pep showing trust in Nico right away or Ake and start Josko at left center back the entire season.

Not at all a surprise that the moment we were forced to start playing our €90 left footed center back in his correct position that the spine of the team started to look way stronger.

Please Pep just keep him at LCB for the rest of the time we’re lucky enough to watch big wear the Sky Blue.

Bit but they c-can p-play this and that position !!

Great result and we defended well throughout. Not sure i’m seeing that Nico Gonzales is good enough for us. Can’t see him starting many matches next season.

Like many of our signings he needs a season to get used to it. He’s shown enough to suggest he has it in him to be a decent player here.

A bit dour today on the pitch but all the fans around me in the upper stand never let it affect them, singing and roaring the team on even during the low quality football in the first 60 minutes. Big shout out for them and a result they deserved for travelling. On a personal note I am sad it was our last game at Goodison as I have always enjoyed our games there since I first went in the 60s, I like the old ground and the Z cars tune the players walk out to, I hope they at least keep that at their new ground. I have met many Evertonians over the years, a close friend is a die hard blue as well and never had any mither with them, a down to earth bunch of supporters who I hope can replicate our success in their new ground like we eventually did after moving from Maine Road.
Goodbye Goodison from a Manchester blue, you will be missed.

If you think about it we’ve been relatively shite all season Bar few games, we were never turning into prime city from what we’ve seen this season so on that aspect
Why do we moan as we all know what our level is as it’s been visible all season.
Personally I have digs at players because I know they are capable of so much more.

Lack of confidence spreads through a team very quickly and all it takes is a few ultra reliable players like Kev, foden and even Dias to start looking nervous and making errors. Throw in a shit load of injuries
Players past their best then another 10 percent loss of appetite after 4 in a row and it’s amazing we are in the top 4 still!.
I’m one of these moaning cunts but thinking about it properly why do I think they are suddenly going to turn the clock back.

I’m going to get behind the lads for the last few games regardless of performances and hope to fuck we make the champions league.

If that was in one of our previous league winning seasons we'd be saying how big everyone's balls were for seeing that through.

Moyes has them well organized and it's never an easy place to go, but we kept playing till the end, exhausted them by moving the ball round, and then Pep's subs finished the game (alright for a manager who never picks the right team and never makes the right subs).

Dull as shite but not sure that was our fault!
Agree with the way we exhausted them . 68% possession to their 32%.664 passes to their 316. We did tire them out just like we did to Palace last week. I dont think Villa will give us that amount of possession on Tuesday.

Yeah it was odd going today knowing that it would be the last time. My first away with my dad was Everton. A 1-1 draw 48 years ago! Think it’s the ground I have been to the most away games over the years.

I went into the Taxi Driver club pre game for a drink and had a chat with a few there and on the walk back to the car after the game. Couple of mates of mine at school were Everton in a school full of dippers and rags so always felt we had something in common.

Had to laugh at the “you know what you are….you cheating bastards” and “one charge and you fucked it up” song” followed by “”City’s going down with a billion in the bank”

I thought the atmosphere in lower tier was flat for much of the game to be honest. Maybe couldn’t hear the upper.

Credit to Matheus Nunes, I thought he was good today defensively along with his excellent assist, He's not the answer at right back for the future but he offers so much more than Rico Lewis in that position.

We were really poor for 80 minutes of that game and we started to come alive when Kovacic and Doku got introduced, I thought it was substitutions that changed the game.

Very good result away from home at a tough ground against an in form Everton.

Let's keep going.

Went to the match?

Seems to be a split in the thread between who watched it live at Woodison and those who watched it on the telly? Those there say we were great and game managing. Those at home bemoan what they thought was a poor City show.
