and some of them still see him as their saviour. Imagine he got a safe seat and launched an immediate coup against Badenoch - never a good look in politics - and he gets the top job or just gets in the house it won't be him against Starmer the sharks smelling blood will include Davey, Swinney and Farage - he will get reminded weekly that he was so weak he was ousted by the mass resignation of his own cabinet over his lies at the time when the Covid-19 Inquiry is on-going and reminding the country of his lies, laziness and stupidity ........... their issue is further compounded by Badenoch being immensely self assured based solely on her own stupidity and possible replacement Reinhard Jeinrich who would sell them to Farage in a heartbeat as long as he is promised the role of Goebbels in some Tory/Reform pact.

And that is the product of Johnson. Him stripping the Party of anyone who had any questions just accepting solely acolytes who pledge tribute to him which led to his downfall which led to Truss which led to Sunak stood in the pissing rain reading out his own and his Party's suicide note in Downing Street to disastrous election after election. In the next decade someone much more eloquent than me who was a Tory and see's his chosen Party in tatters around his feet will write the story that may try and blame Call Me Dave but the inescapable conclusion will end up at Johnson's door.

He’s no longer a force in politics, he is a tick on the side, shouting profanities at the clouds.

I still don’t understand words like ‘Woke’, ‘Grifter’ and ‘Gammon’, but Johnson seems to encapsulate them all, in his own way.

I really do despise that man for the depths he dragged us to. Probably the only person I could say this about.
 
'ickle Marky Francis doesn't quite get that as we had been trading in some goods with the EU since Brexit was enacted - to do that we had to align with EU rules or there's no go - same when we do trade with the USA, we have to align with US rules - same applies almost everywhere unless we have a specific agreement and in none of them where we have do we get to make the rules - they seem to think that because we are British we have some sort of special entitlement

‘Ickle Mark Francois is actually completely right about this; the UK will become a rule taker with regard to SPS and, surprise surprise, Starmer was being dishonest with his answer. Anyone who reads the documentation on the matter from the European Commission will arrive at the same conclusion.

Whether it’s a worthwhile move is a political decision, but there’s no question on the matter that the UK will become a rule taker.

Also, on the matter of UK exporters already complying with EU regulations, this obviously does occur, but the critical issue is that without a proper monitoring system and an agreement on common standards, these exports are typically still subject to enhanced border checks. Again, the issue with the SPS deal is that the UK will be forced to comply with EU standards, without any formal ability to shape these regulations or veto them.

That will be because we left the EU, the causes are clear. We continue as we were and punch ourselves in the case each year at a cost to the economy of billions.
