Yeah @Vialli98 is one of modest, knowledgeable and constructive opposition fans I have come across on this forum.

Thanks mate. I appreciate the kind words. I've had run ins with a couple of posters on this site, but for the most part, I've found City fans on this forum to be nice, friendly and welcoming.

It's interesting that the £200m valuation of the women's team raised eyebrows but here we have a multi millionaire investing £20m for a 10% stake in Chelsea Women.

Yeah but as a fan, it is just exhausting.

It's not like we're gaining much of an advantage by gaming the system. We finished 12th in Clearlake's first year, 6th in their 2nd year, and we look like we might finish 6th or 7th in their 3rd year. That is despite them spending over a billion on transfers, vastly, vastly outspending the rest of the league, and that is also despite them exploiting every loophole in the rulebook.

And one other thing, the reason they're so relentlessly finding every loophole in the books is because they've recklessly overspent and we do not have CL football, nor the revenues, to absorb that kind of spending, so we're heavily reliant on financial engineering shenanigans to avoid breaching the rules. That is not a good place to be.
I think I've mentioned on posts of yours, or elsewhere, Clearlake don't seem to have a grasp that football doesn't work like American sports.
You can't run around signing loads of young players as though it's a draft system - and of course stick lots on very long term contracts.
I have no axe to grind with Chelsea, but you're starting to run short of options to balance the books (although Mudryk might save you a wedge - not really a laughing matter that one mind).
It'll be an interesting couple of years for you

we don't know that that Multi millionaire isn't one of the investors to Chelsea's hedge fund? I'll say it again if you don't know who is an investor into a clubs purchase in a hedge fund take over they shouldn't be allowed!

As in if he's an investor who's money Clearlake manage, away from Chelsea? I don't know, and I don't think it would be possible to know unless Clearlake volunteered that information.

We basically need Champions League football to get the ball rolling on increasing our revenue. But yes, I agree they've done things in a way that makes it extremely difficult to find any room for errors in the future.

Thankfully we secured CL football. It was close and honestly we should never have let it get to the final day given where we were in December, but thankfully that is now over and we can look forward to CL football next season as well as potentially attract a one or two key signings who actually move the needle for us.

A strong chelsea is good for the league. Hopefully sort themselves out enough to pull In some of the red twats.

Consistency is key and Chelsea are a bit flakey.

If we can target a couple of key players instead of spending the entire summer wheeling and dealing and again bringing in 8-9 players, then I might start believing we can challenge for something.
