Punk and New Wave thread.

Black Flag were my obsession for a few years. First heard on Peel then mail order vinyl.
I used to write to Henry Rollins and he scribbled back quite a few times with posters, stickers and recommendations for other bands. Jack Brewer from Saccharine Trust wrote whilst BF were on tour.
Wasn't over keen on the later BF stuff, though still have my bike jacket with the logo and a pic of Henry shouting in to a mike on the back. I stripped off the rendition of Killing Joke first album and the Damned logo from the Black Album to make way.
American punk still always on my playlists...
those days were great.
you could write to someone you didn't know in a band
and more often than not they replied.
actually handwritten and posted.
did it myself plenty of times for a laugh.
toyah was the best reply
(victims of the riddle 1980 ish i think)
she sent me a signed photo of herself on stage with one tit showing.
i'll dig it out.

anyroad,
yeah, early black flag, mate.
and one of the best logos ever

i also hand-painted the first killing joke sleeve on my jacket.
happy days

Pistols playing Glasgow this Saturday
Very good bill but I cannot handle the pissed up crowd nowadays
I thought about going to that as I have family in Helensburgh
But if the weather is shit it absolutely ruins everything for me
Not that keen on outdoor gigs
But we've got North West Calling in Manchester on Saturday anyway (Steve Ignorant , UK Subs, Anti Nowhere League, Cockney Rejects)

Just watching this
