RIP Wayne Larkins
That's sad news. He was an entertaining batsman to watch.
RIP Wayne Larkins
Can’t see us picking Archer if we do it’s mental because of his fitness reliability! Maybe the 4th or 5th test match, if he has played another 1 or 2 4 day county game though..
Unless they’re facing Lancashire’s too order!Dry pitches and the return of the Kookaburra ball mean hard days for the bowlers under the sun.
Jennings and Green had good knocks.Unless they’re facing Lancashire’s too order!
Jennings and Green had good knocks.
In Division 1 today, the 5 matches yielded an average of 351.6 runs for 4.4 wickets. Must listen to Key explain again how the Kookaburra experiment will help England’s bowlers win Ashes series in Australia…
It’s the demon Derbyshire bowlers.9 matches started today across the 2 divisions and Lancs were the only ones to be bowled out and finish their innings. Everyone else will still be continuing batting again tomorrow. Not sure if that says a lot about the ball or just Lancs!
I was at the Oval today , turgid one sided stuff.Dry pitches and the return of the Kookaburra ball mean hard days for the bowlers under the sun.
Hope you sat in the shade. Some broiled lobsters in the uncovered stands.I was at the Oval today , turgid one sided stuff.
I love the sun,but not today.Hope you sat in the shade. Some broiled lobsters in the uncovered stands.
Sam should have been set for a double hundred on that.
They got to 132-6, but then pulled it back, actually scored at a decent lick for once too.I have been snoozing. When last I looked Lancs were 106-4 so pleasantly surprised at the score now. Jennings has been on fire for a few weeks now.
Lovely venue.Cracking day out at Chesterfield. Excellent gritty knock by Jennings holding it together and Green's century was class. Definitely a bit of a greentop wicket so might explain the early wickets...speaking to groundstaff they said it usually starts to change on day three and a proper dust bowl on the final day in these conditions, so we'll see where we stand after Derbyshire have a bat.
771/5 currently. 887 is the highest ever in the County Championship. Yorkshire v Warwickshire in 1896! Lancs looked like they were going to smash that against Surrey in 1990 but ended up subsiding from 844/5 to 863 all outSurrey could get 1000 if they wanted. Madness.
730/4
803/8 now. Think the record is safe.771/5 currently. 887 is the highest ever in the County Championship. Yorkshire v Warwickshire in 1896! Lancs looked like they were going to smash that against Surrey in 1990 but ended up subsiding from 844/5 to 863 all out
That’s just mad. If Durham respond well, it’s a bore draw. Why bat to 800+?Surrey 820-9 declared, beating their highest ever first-class score of 811 set in 1899.
Durham require 671 to avoid the follow on.
