The "which famous person died today" thread

Robin Hood has died.
Or rather the City of Nottingham's official Robin Hood who played the part for the past several years. Report on BBC website. His wife Sally who played Maid Marion with him at pageants sadly died of cancer a few years ago and he then dedicated his Robin activities to raising money for charities in her name. Apparently their act once involved him throwing axes at her as she stood in.front of a board.
One of those eccentric and typically English stories that come up from time to time.
R.I.P. both.

"o-o-oh Reggie ( Bosanquet ) oh Reggie ( don't go away ) - that was the lyric yeah?

Something along those lines, Pamela Stephenson pretending to be Anna Ford I think - presumably at the time he left ITN.

I assume Sandy Gall got a SI puppet because he had the kind of lived in face that worked well for the style.

We all die of something mate and I would think none of it is funny, I am a big dementia care advocate but a bit of humour isn't a bad way to deal with it.
You're so right, humour has been the antidote to those carers for dementia patients. My mate's Mum who died from it in her mid 50's saw her son dressed in his work gear, Decorator, and said "what are you doing here? You're a right shady character", a moment of laughter in a very depressing illness, it was priceless and wasn't the only classic she came out with, one of the loveliest women you could ever meet.
