I was with Creation on a freebie. I remember Peter Hooton, the singer from Echobelly and then Noddy Holder telling me the beer was free. Second night. Went on the pitch for the gig as blagged a mate in pretending he should have been on the list. Couldn't get him upstairs though.

Liam G's silly tweet has got Man City China's highest complaint levels. The ill-advised "because we need each other" post on Weibo was seen as backing for Liam and his racist slur post. Oasis won't be playing China any time soon.

Tried explaining to a few Chinese mates that Liam is not the shiniest apple on the cart and that he was likely not thinking. The level of abuse and accusations of racism-sympathiser was astounding. You can't defuse something when emotions are high. Really took the shine off the excitement of a great comeback.

They have never played in China, mainly due to Noel once playing at a concert for Tibet.

They will still sell out any venue they do choose to play anywhere else on earth, so the tweet is pretty inconsequential.
