Yeah, I do remember reading that. He'd take on any role, to stop him thinking about his wife. Which was tough. Just a pity he's gone for that end of the msrket; he's a better actor than that. But I guess they pay the bills. The Taken films in particular, IIRC, did well at the box office.

Didn't he also get dropped by a lot of the higher quality film makers through some kind of racist remark?

I first seen him as an actor in the A Woman of Substance a mini tv series around mid 80’s
 
I’ve watched a couple of Denzil films lately. Gladiator II. From a woman’s point of view, I can tell you, that bloke is no Russell Crowe. Disappointed in the film itself 6/10. Next film, The Magnificent Seven, remake. Really good and enjoyed and I tried not to keep comparing it to the original. 8/10
