How high and far back do you think the back of the Kippax went in relation to the East Stand at the Etihad? I remember the Kippax having a ‘low rake’ or ‘shallow/small steps’.Got myself a new printer/scanner, so better quality pics than the last ones I posted.....

I wonder if the Swales attendance MO was that last three digits of the figure were correct with the adjustment being made at the front, or if the figure was completely fabricated. There must have been a system of sorts in place. And others would have been in on it. Inconceivable that they weren’t. Too many moving parts for that not to be the case.Just checked online and as there was the shitest pitch invasion ever at Maine Road, brings me back to my previous comments about there being no fence on the Main Stand for you well behaved residents there back in the day!!!.....I am sure this was the last match of the 83/84 season where we finished 4th. I think this was a 5-0 win for City against Cambridge United. Mr Swales gave a typical attendance that day of 20,787, meaning the gound could get another 31,000 inside. Platt Lane looks a bit blurry, but there is no way another 31,000 could have got in the ground!!!.....those are City fans in there, Away seated fans back then got J block between the North Stand and Maine Stand, apart from when Newcastle and Sheffield Wednesday visited and they got Platt Lane and the usual section of The Kippax.

There used to be audible laughs around the ground when they announced the attendance in the second half. Even taking away a poor Away support, looking at The Kippax from The North Stand, there must have been 12,000 to 15,000 most home games in the old Second Division as was, so with the Main Stand well occupied, North Stand pretty good and Platt Lane in use in that 83/84 season, attendances of 20,000 were a piss take.I wonder if the Swales attendance MO was that last three digits of the figure were correct with the adjustment being made at the front, or if the figure was completely fabricated. I think the attendance regularly being barely over 20k worked like DFS’s pricing policy in reverse. There used to be audible laughs around the ground when they announced the attendance in the second half. I was in the Platt Lane that day, half way up the stand. Plenty of seats empty by us.Just checked online and as there was the shitest pitch invasion ever at Maine Road, brings me back to my previous comments about there being no fence on the Main Stand for you well behaved residents there back in the day!!!.....I am sure this was the last match of the 83/84 season where we finished 4th. i don't think he did any real arithmetic.I wonder if the Swales attendance MO was that last three digits of the figure were correct with the adjustment being made at the front, or if the figure was completely fabricated.
