The first time in 89 yrs since a British team won the Men’s Doubles at Wimbledon!! Wow well done. Great stuff. :-)
Is there any reason why the doubles is referred to as the Gentlemen's, whereas the singles is (I think) referred to as the mens'?The first time in 89 yrs since a British team won the Men’s Doubles at Wimbledon!! Wow well done. Great stuff. :-)
Just as I predicted that Pel was the week link, absolutely made up for our lads the way they blitz through their semifinal gave me great confidence in them to win today. The first time in 89 yrs since a British team won the Men’s Doubles at Wimbledon!! Wow well done. Great stuff. :-)
It’s not prettyFancy paying a small fortune to watch this Ladies Final it is a non-event so far.
On the Wimbledon website both are listed as Gentlemen’s singles and doubles. It’s just Wimbledon tradition I guess. :-) I like tradition. :-) But I am old fashioned! Is there any reason why the doubles is referred to as the Gentlemen's, whereas the singles is (I think) referred to as the mens'?
It's painful to watch. Memories of Navratilova at her prime. Never been a love love final in the open era. In any of the slams, I'm guessing? It’s not pretty

It's cruel making her do the post match stuff. But I guess she's obliged to do it. It's a tough watch, though. What a nightmare. Ultimately it's just highly paid athletes whacking a ball, but nonetheless you have to feel for the lass.
At least they got to see our lads win the doubles.I don't know how much tickets were for today, but whatever they were, the punters have been screwed. You want a contest, that was not a contest.
Paid £70 for No.1 court tickets on Thursday on Row.Z which was in the shade and a great view at the back of the court.I don't know how much tickets were for today, but whatever they were, the punters have been screwed. You want a contest, that was not a contest.
I'd say that they were slightly dearer for today!Paid £70 for No.1 court tickets on Thursday on Row.Z which was in the shade and a great view at the back of the court.
I do have the vaguest idea of tennis, going all the way back to the likes of Rosewall, Newcome, Laver and Nastase etc. Forgive me for not recognising a players voice who's last grand slam win was over 20 years ago. I do agree, however, he was a brilliant player. Far better player than a commentator. It helps if you have the vaguest understanding of tennis. It’s Agassi, FFS, and he was brilliant.
Was she still outside?Take the cap off, FFS.
