Oasis reunion

Wonder what is next for them after this tour. I would assume there'll be a live album or film recording, but do they hit the studio and put out a new album?

It feels like these gigs have cemented their legacy, but if they go back to their own ventures and there's a new Liam solo or High Flying Birds album it's going to feel like a let down after all of this... A full Oasis album of all Noel written songs with Liam on vocals for the vast majority... Confident they'd deliver something much better than the later Oasis albums, but understand if they don't.

Probably extend the tour further because they will realise how much money they can make.

Must just be me then, fair enough! I couldn’t be less interested in Richard Ashcroft. If loads of people are then fair enough. I had no idea he was that big of a pull tbh. Always put him in that Ian Brown solo bracket of hasbeen rubbish!

Saw Johnny Marr supporting New Order in Wythenshawe park last year and he was sensational, perfect for a big outdoor Manchester crowd.
Electronic made 3 good songs...they should reform and perform them.

They'll take the money and run

They’ve made some good songs since then 1998, they just haven’t produced an album like the first two and I don’t think that’s worthy of any criticism considering how brilliant both of those albums are.

Not many bands make more than 2 great albums in their careers in fairness and some have been together decades. Their catalogue of songs is very impressive which is why they are popular .
You know when a band is big the cool kids embarrass themselves.

I much prefer listening to the Jazz funk trio from dusseldorf called im eigenen Arsch verschwunden. I find their smaller gigs soooo much more satisfying.

Putting him with Ian Brown solo is very harsh. Its the biggest insult you could give a musician I would have thought:-)

I heard yours was quite a large one.

Don’t believe the truth is my favourite Oasis album.

Their later work lacked the visceral energy and snarl of Definitely Maybe and What’s the Story but personally I loved the psych rock influence of their later stuff, and Zak Starkey is an incredible drummer. Shame he’s not involved on this tour.

I was expecting ‘bigger’ supports as well. Thought maybe we’d get Blossoms or Doves or Johnny Marr, someone on that level.

I couldn’t give less of a shit about Richard Ashcroft - always found him and the verve a load of whiney forgettable bilge if I’m honest.

Looking forward to Cast though, I’ve never seen them, reckon they’ll be great fun in the sunsheeeiiiiinneeee on Saturday!
We didn’t even bother making it inside in time for Cast or Dicky Ash. Stone Roses at HP, Oasis HP in 2008, Loch Lomond and Maine Road all had great support line ups.

The amount of stuff they put out 94 to 97 was more than enough for most bands in an entire career.
Looking back they were never gonna be able to keep doing it.
Them songs are still popular now and getting even more popular.

Why so defensive yeh I know the threads about the reunion but I was just wondering If there’s anyone who didn’t like their music or that type of genre it’s nothing personal Against the lads they’re great city fans, I fucking hated joy division but I used to ride round with Barney on our bikes when he lived on greengate.
We used to joke that we are not giving him a fiver for that shit.
Apologies if I’ve upset you
Haha, nice.

I was just replying to your comment to say that there has been plenty of people in this thread coming on to say they don't like Oasis. I guess you've not read much of the thread and so weren't to know. It's been mentioned a few times that people can't help themselves and that they get a kick out of the negativity. Not just on this thread but plenty of others too.

You didn't upset me mate, so no worries.
