Strange that Pogacar doesn't wear a jacket when desending, that's seems an unnecessary risk to me
Definitely, his jersey was unzipped a bit on the upper slopes of the Tourmalet when the on screen graphic said the temperature at the top of the mountain was 14 degrees. Is he potentially on a bad day?

Obviously something wrong with him either physically or medically.
He’d been pouring water over himself at every opportunity, certainly from what we saw on camera, for the last few days. His teams mates pouring it on him too. He even shaved his hair off also. My guess would be he’s had a temperature for a few days so some kind of illness for sure.

Camera bike really helping group 2 here, far closer than the GC group camera.
They’ve been too close a lot on this race imo.

Ineos needed that if rumours are true Pinarello are binning them next year then Brailsford will have to pull more than a stage win out of the bag.
I think the attention of a stage win at this particular point is a mixed blessing for this team, bearing in mind the recent revelations about their chief “carer” and his connections to certain characters back on their glorious 2012 tour.

all these Alpine climbs of those in the Pyrenees that you see with hundreds of thousands of spectators and cars and camper vans at the side of the road with writing chalked into the road surface - well 65 years ago you had this

Amazing stuff. The stage lengths used to be so much longer as well didn’t they?!

Just watching the 'highlights' show. The segment by Phil Liggett was delightful, talling about Paul Sherwood. Can remember Paul Sherwood flying past my milk float near Great Budworth lol

I'm really going to miss the Tour next year
Driving a milk float round Great Budworth - lovely route that must have been, esp of a summer’s morning - just as long as you don’t take a rogue left turn and end up on the race track ;-)

Lol it was winter back in 89 driving a milk float in the snow was much fun ! I only did the job for about 6 weeks, my money was short every month and no one could work out way. Shortages came out of your wage and I didn't trust the scouse manager and just walked lol.

But yea it was a beautiful route from Northwich

“Thou shalt not go north of Birmingham!”
seems to be the theme this year on the Men’s ToB, with 4 of the 6 stages announced so far and a rumoured finale in Cardiff.

Maybe they are bothered about the length of transitions but Britain isn’t that large, and the stages themselves aren’t long either, so there is plenty of time in the day to move.

As a spectator I find it frustrating they zone in on parts and ignore other parts every time. It should be possible, for example, to have a stage in or on the edges of NW England every year. Definitely so if you’ve got a men’s and women’s tour.

I thought cycling was supposed to be good for you? I can’t even spot his knee
On another note, Ventoux looking rammed.

Bloody hell, sprinting at the top of Ventoux.
Yep, what a finish.

I don’t understand why Pogi was putting effort into outsprinting and beating JV at the end there. He’s got 4 mins lead in GC, there were no bonus seconds on offer and they were both outside the podium.

He did it for shits and giggles but more importantly to tell Visma they can employ any tactics they wish but he’s still gonna fuck their main man right over.

I like it

But if you’re gonna take that approach, go win the flippin’ stage! 5th is just meh.

Yeah its a I'm stronger than you so don't fuck with me

Maybe, but it’s needless though, and in its own way a bit small time from him.

He knows, JV knows, the rest of Visma know, the whole world knows, that he’s already shown he’s way, way stronger. Sprinting for 5th not 6th when you have a 4 min lead and only 2 mountain stages left is laughable. He was already riding a record time for the climb.

I’m a Pogi fan and would much rather he win than Jonas, but today was just, ugh. Now if it had been to win the stage, or even top 3, then fair enough.
