PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Ziegler complaining how much the PL are paying in legal costs

Those pesky unnmaed senior officials at Arsenal

Oh diddums my poor heart bleeds. Maybe, just maybe the PL should have sat down and asked how much will this cost our member clubs and what are our chances of winning. I wonder how much in legal fees the PL has spent chasing the likes of the two sets of accounts red shirted wankers from over the road. What's that I hear you say, nothing to see here?

If this is true then Masters and his pals are totally insane because they will pay most of the bill if they lose. It proves beyond doubt that their motive has been purely to try and destroy City. No one would take a case like this on unless they had overwhelmng evidence. They can't have strong evidence because City would have settled it years ago if that was the case.

Seeing the legal fees are paid for by ever club, did it go to answers vote as to charge City or not ?

Similar one from me. We were in Home nightclub in the 90s. I think it was New Years Eve. A group of us were off it and generally doing the club thing when Hucknall approached one of our group, and she is attractive, holding a bottle of champagne and two glasses, trying to give her a glass and generally sidle in. Nothing wrong with it in itself but she just thought he was creepy and cheesy.

Is this Mick Hucknall who you are on about?

I wonder if this is start of the Premier League’s face saving operation. Dropped the charges because it was costing the clubs too much and that money should be reinvested into the game. Probably clutching at straws there really
It sounds like it. The PL narrative looks like: "We had to take action to protect other clubs, City failed to provide the documents, we can't continue because the costs will damage all the clubs." As opposed to: "We took expensive legal action against City without any evidence. We started a fishing expedition and used our media pals to put City under pressure in the hope they would cave in and settle."

You also have to ask whether they want the best and most appropriate people for the job or just whoever's got nowt on at the minute.
Surely the length of time these things take depends on what each party take to the panel so there's no way of telling how long it will take and what other things the people on the panel may end up getting pulled in to.
To be fair Stefan has warned us all about the severity of the charges and then how long such a set of charges can/may take.
We are informed that the PL Legal Team is capable so the must also know what they were in for time wise so this must have been passed on to Mr Levy. They chose to continue the expensive legal case yet start suddenly to complain as if Mr Levy did not expect this.

The PL appointed the Panel but unlike former cases the Panel body seemingly consists of men of integrity., a word Mr Levy recently took out of context.

My story is very similar, we were out in Castlefield, a mixed group of us were on the piss, all of us were around 19 - 21, I cant remember which bar now (it would have been around 98 or 99) and we didn't go to Castlefield much.
Hucknall starts trying to chat up this girl we were with, she was one of the youngest with us so she must have only been 19 and he would have been almost 40 at the time. She obviously wasn't interested and made it very clear, he pulled out the classic "Do you know who I am?", literally word for word, I was pissing myself which didn't go down well with him but she genuinely didn't know who he was which made it funnier.
Anyway, he retreated red faced and we were all escorted out with me and my mate giving the bar a few choruses of songs we made up on the spot on themes of how Hucknall's old enough to be her dad and fuck off pervy grandad.
It was funny at the time but it's always stuck with me how wrong the whole situation was, I think he was married at the time too just to add a whole other layer of predatory behaviour on top.
Well known that he had a 14 year old girlfriend in Sheffield in the 90s - hopefully it catches up with him at some point

Can’t imagine the club accepting this though. Our name has been dragged through the mud for years only for the conclusion to be ‘they got away with it because it was so expensive’

I think the talk about costs being an issue for the Premier League isn’t really an indicator about our current charges but more an excuse for the League not to get involved in this again. If we win don’t expect an appeal. Don’t expect to see Chelsea get hit with the same level of charges either.

I think the PL have realised this has damaged their brand and they are keen to end these type of investigations and they’ll try to sort matters in-house where possible in future. There’s now a big risk for both the PL and any clubs charged going forwards.

The premier league are having the equivalent of the dream where you are addressing the school assembly and realising you forgot to put your pants on.
