The crying from the right over the Rayner story is pathetic considering the grift from the tories over the past few years. Billions were stolen during COVID yet rayner is getting more front covers for this. I'm not a Rayner fan at all, but the narrative is so fucking skewed. We deserve the shitshow that we are.

Have you considered all the times Amge has called for the resignation of others who had been accused of doing what she has admitted to. Not forgetting the numerous times Starmer called for resignations and the numerous times he preached how anyone caught doing anything corrupt on his watch would be out straight away.
Have you thought it just might be the hypocrisy that people are pissed about.

In the scheme of things, what she's done is pretty fucking minor, it's not worth all the teeth gnashing that's going on. As I said, I'm not a fan at all, she's comes across like a bit of a dick, but the pile on is pathetic. From what I've read, and I'm sure people will tell me if I'm wrong, she made a mistake in assuming that one of her residences didn't count in terms of paying a rate of stamp duty. It's possible she did it deliberately, but it's possible she actually just made a mistake, either way, it's fuck all in comparison to the grift from others. The political conversation in this country is fucked.

I am a pensioner and now have a ‘K’ tax code, it pisses me off that I abide by all the rules but people like her flaunt them.

You're missing the point of what I posted. It matters not how big or little the indiscretion was. It's about her and Starmer's continued preaching that if anything occurred on their watch they would be out. We are seeing now that was just words from both of them, a stick to beat the tories with at the time of them saying it. AS I said in my post, it's the hypocrisy of the pair of them that is pissing people off.

I care not one little bit if she or anyone else manages to get away with paying less tax. But don't come the holier than thou attitude towards others if you do it.

Good for you, you're awesome, but from what I've read, it's entirely possible she's made a mistake but everyone is so quick to jump specifically on her, primarily because parts of the media and twitter get everyone so wound up about her. They don't like northerners getting out their box you see.

And what if she just made a mistake and misunderstood the rules? I'm not trying to defend her by the way, I'm just saying the narrative towards her specifically is a disgrace.

The fact that is the thing you picked up on from my post says all I need to know. Never been on twitter and never will. I am not ashamed to admit that when I watch a news channel it is GBN. Maybe you should try it.

However you're correct, it should have been Rach from complaints.

Not a witch hunt on my part as my previous posts show, you say if she has done wrong she should be sacked then say but if an expert advised her then is it her fault ? So we are back to where I came in.

How do you know which one it was? Was it the expert who turns out not to be an expert at all or Angela getting advice on what she may get away with.

Are we letting off everyone who claims an expert suddenly didn't know what they'were talking about, in private, with no proof, yeah that bloke said it was fine.

BTW it's called a 2nd opinion not a 20th opinion.

But hey let's be gullible and believe neither the housing minister or an 'expert' did their homework which just happened to make her 40k better off.
