I'm not sure if these charges also relate to some additional stuff that has subsequently come out regarding third party payments but if they do then they could be in even deeper trouble than first thought - assuming they get found guilty of course

They will be found guilty, they will be sanctioned with a big fine, the cash for which they have already, the PL will say, without a hint of irony, that no further action will be taken because the FA handled it and it was a long time ago.
