Good chance he’s gone by the end of the week.
The PLP will know that very soon, they will face not just the threat of Farage and Reform but also one from their own left who have had enough.
Starmer and Reeves are toast. Not if, when.
Good chance he’s gone by the end of the week.
Not only is Chippy a liar(a different topic) but a fantasist too. There were at least 150,000 people who turned up though mate and it's the characterization of all of them as thugs, which only amplifies their indignation. If we want a harmonious society, it's entirely the wrong approach.
And the small boats problem is easily remedied by any government with the will to do so.
Yeah, because that debate has never been had before has it? Yaxley-Lennon has been peddling his rhetoric for well over a decade, Hopkins for nearly as long, Fox for several years, and Farage for longer than all of them put together. None of them have ever been prevented from speaking, despite the free speech protagonists claiming otherwise. No, did I say that? What I am saying is that these people have opened up a debate among the British people which had been a long time coming.
Not specifically. Anyway I'm not the government.Do you advocate putting asylum seekers on channel tunnel trains, that would stop the boats overnight?
Never mind that. They should be lumping on at 6/1.If certain posters are convinced Starmer’s soon to be toast, maybe they should let the bookies know. After all, he’s as long as 6-1 to be replaced this year
It’s true not all are thugs but you can’t get round the fact they all attended a rally organised by a thug, with contributions from an assortment of racists, conspiracy nuts and fascists. There were at least 150,000 people who turned up though mate and it's the characterization of all of them as thugs, which only amplifies their indignation. It really isn't. We'd have to leave the ECHR, relinquish our agreement to abide by the Refugee Convention and repeal the relevant UK laws.Well, the political suicide being committed by not stopping the boats would suggest it is more difficult than we envisage.
I agree - if they’re that convinced then there’s good money to be madeNever mind that. They should be lumping on at 6/1.
That’s your anticipated outcome. I personally think the boats would still come.It really isn't. We'd have to leave the ECHR, relinquish our agreement to abide by the Refugee Convention and repeal the relevant UK laws.
All of that is straightforward if any government with a decent majority has the balls to do it.
Then, start returning every single person who arrives by small boat.
The problem is gone almost overnight. Within days, the boats stop arriving. No longer is there any incentive for any would-be asylum seeker to pay thousands to get to the UK by small boat. It's really that simple. But so far, no government has been prepared to take the necessary steps, because although simple to do, it would cause significant domestic and international condemnation.
If it’s that simple, why hasn’t anybody been able to do it?It really isn't. We'd have to leave the ECHR, relinquish our agreement to abide by the Refugee Convention and repeal the relevant UK laws.

Course they would. That’s your anticipated outcome. I personally think the boats would still come.
There have been many refugees waiting for their ticket saying nothing would deter them
Well it worked in Australia and I think it would work here too. That’s your anticipated outcome. I personally think the boats would still come.

That sounds easy then. Vote ChippyIt really isn't. We'd have to leave the ECHR, relinquish our agreement to abide by the Refugee Convention and repeal the relevant UK laws.

I get that the peasants are revolting but Farage as PM.. I just don’t think the electorate are that stupid.. But I may be wrongWell it worked in Australia and I think it would work here too.
I suspect we'll find out if I'm right or you are, in about 4 years time because I think Farage will be the next PM and will instigate these measures.
Don't we live in a democracy? What is stopping people from voting for change in an election? If that fails then why can't they just accept that this clearly isn't the view of most people?
There's a reason why they attack our institutions, police and judiciary whilst claiming they're fighting for democracy and law. There's a reason why they speak freely despite the irony of their claim that they can't speak freely.
What they want isn't democracy or an ordered change implemented as government. They really want a violent insurrection or authoritarian boot which acts beyond the rule of law to attack minorities, impose their misinformed version of British eugenics and eliminate any opposition or people they hate. Western Europe has seen this before.....

I don't have the energy to get into an argument over this mate. My position is this is achieveable. Send them back to originating countries that will take them, or to third party countries where they will not.voice of Columbo
"erm Mr Choppy just one last question. How do you send people to other countries without prior agreement from said country to allow your vessels to dock or your airplane to land? You see there are the Foreign Carrier Permit needed to land a plane and if that is denied you cannot land your plane. With ships if you violate the Law of the Sea and its seen as an act of aggression to enter territorial waters and a breach of that country's sovereignty. I only ask because you have been keen to express the importance of national sovereignty"
