Running thread

Up and about earlyish again this morning, such a lovely morning for a run!

Went for it a little bit today and managed to get 10k in 54:17 and felt pretty good

Trying to trust my body a bit more over those distances, as I guess you've got to push it sometimes to see where you are

Enjoy the weekend folks!

Returned to Marple Park run this morning, ran 29:26, my personal best. It definitely helped knowing the course, as I was able to pace myself better. Thanks for all the training advice fellas, much appreciated.
Well done Big Joe. I’m improving week by week too. So pleased to have had no leg issues today for the third week running. Calf strengthening exercises with weights must be paying off! Peel Parkrun again for me this morning. My best time so far of 26:54 absolutely buzzing.

Headed over to Middlewood Way today for a long run, planned to head back on the Macclesfield Canal and got a little lost trying to get to Lyme View Marina, so ended up doing 21.5km and getting a HM time of 1:57.

Buzzing with that!
You've done well to get lost there mate haha, where was the wrong turn?

Either way, that's a great time; hoping to get a long run in myself tomorrow and will be going past there at some point myself

No idea, thought I would see the Marina from Middlewood, not been down as far as that before, but went past it by quite some way, turned back and then got off too early, eventually found it (I thought), but went into a field and ran around some nice flower beds that were adjacent to the canal so had to turn back! Lost my head for a few mins but managed to get back on track!

Next time come off about 1.5km earlier (assuming coming from high lane) or 1.5km later if from Macc, and you should see a car park on Middlewood Way; run through the car park and it should bring you onto the canal

Lyme view is normally the point I come on or come off the canal, always try and stop at the little hut called Baileys Trading post for a lucozade sport!

I’m pretty sure I saw a canal boat with ‘Baileys’ written on it, would have loved a lucozade at that point!

Great stuff Staffs. We were talking about Christmas Day Parkrun today. Not sure if Peel do one but I’m up for it this year. Be a great start to the day I reckon. And will then feel zero guilt as the twelfth roast potato goes down! :-)

I did Peel Parkrun last Christmas Day. It was on the "B" course as the top field was muddy, and relatively quiet, but was a great start to the day.
Going to be in Stafford for Christmas this year, and they usually can't muster enough volunteers for a Christmas Day Parkrun here, unfortunately.
