Dundee school obtain tickets for Liverpool game

Old school turn out last night and lots of regular younger lot, how it should be and I personally saw no tourists although perhaps others may beg to differ? Fact is the big games are going to be the ones the club try to entice new fans to whether it’s school trips or ticketmaster sell ons and not sure that’s going to change now

But I cannot wait to see that new NS top tier empty when we’ve a rainy midweek night with Fulham etc at home, or dead rubber CL game because it will serve the club right - must be nearing thousands now who’ve packed it in having had enough. Napoli was a case in point that they’ve not got a fucking clue about the fanbase and what happens once you make it difficult for commited blues to attend - careful what you wish for City

Kids should be no more than a tenner all over the ground.

Are they on open sale, or do you still need a thirty quid membership just to have the privilege of buying a ticket? I'd imagine that's a barrier to many, not just for this game.
So, north of £60 for a junior then for this Saturday? Bargain.

A coach driver from Ayr told me that he regularly took kids from Ayrshire Dow to the Etihad, not for matches but for trading events. My great nephew fro Winslow also went on a similar event.

Why should the City fans buy tickets for Burnley ?
We saw in our treble season how loyal fans were fucked over for the Madrid game. It was OK for these fans to buy tickets for the league phase but when it came to the knock out stages....... open house, fuck loyalty.
You want loyal Blues to buy Burnley tickets but be happy to watch the dippers on sky because school kids have got the tickets.

Loyalty is a 2 way thing but it seems in short supply at City's end.
The point being either coaches come or they don’t.

Being Liverpool, Burnley or Port Vale games shouldn’t make any difference. Folk kicking off because it means they can’t get a ticket for a big game and not bothering with the other matches get no sympathy.

Correct - it is the principle of selling group bookings for home games to non-members, not the game or particular group.

Either have a set amount for all games or not at all. Also don't pick on one school when hundreds or thousands of groups have done the same.

You're missing the point, what about those who are at burnley and can't get a ticket for Liverpool, because it sold out before their allocated turn when tickets went on sale.

I disagree.
Someone choosing not to bother with the other matches might still be a fan of decades, who’s attended dozens – maybe hundreds – of games. Tomorrow there will be plenty of fans attending who'll miss out on Liverpool despite years of loyalty.

We’ve got a ticket points system (once rightly called loyalty points) for a reason.

If this were a local school from a working-class part of Manchester, nobody would be kicking off. Instead, it’s a revenue-driven stunt to get a few posh Scottish kids to spend in the club shop.

This endless revenue chasing risks hollowing out the soul of our club.

Anyone can make a group booking, and it is odd to wait 22 years to call it out.

At Maine Rd in in the mid/late 1980s City were exposed for charging £300 to be a mascot, which is about £900 now, and you had to have bought the kid a full kit too. They changed it after it was in the Daily Mail.

In 1969 most of the tickets went out of the back door to travel companies for the FA Cup final. People with full sheets of tokens were refused by the club.

It has never had the best interests of the fans at heart when it can make a few quid.

What has amazed me is the difference between City fans and Newcastle fans.
When it was exposed what the club were doing, the Geordies were up in arms whereas us, certainly on here, are in the majority, defending it.

We have even had a post defending the club by saying they shit all over loyal fans in 1969 so why are we complaining!
No wonder we get fucked over. Even when the 1984 (and others) achieve something they are derided on here.
If we can't stand together we've. No chance.

My dad got too old to renew this year after a lifetime and City wouldn’t let my two lads renew their flexi gold tickets despite having thousands of loyalty points. This was because my dad broke his hip, missed most of the season and my son’s used his tickets instead of buying their seats as flexi golds members. They bought the first 8 games with this, and paid the £150, but that wasn’t enough for City, even though they attended every game in every competition.

Now they’ve got Saturday jobs and are potentially lost. And I go on my own without my dad or sons. I can’t forgive City for this.
Shameful mate.

That's because this case and the Newcastle situation have almost nothing in common, it's pointless comparing them.

If this is true then they're saying the tickets were purchased legitimately off the website via the group booking system. The option has been there for a while (perhaps a long time?) so there's nothing dodgy about it.
