Gary Neville

A lot of what he is saying is correct in terms of motivation for a lot of those putting up flags but the only thing I would pull him up on is on his fantasy vision of some previous harmonious country pre flag posting or pre Brexit. The make up of the Man U playing staff was quite amusing as well. My best mate was an African midfielder:-)

Anyhow well done for removing the flag Gary let's hope we all get back to.your capitalist wonderland ASAP and you can commentate on another tournament in a homophonic and mysoganist country and can continue with a large pool of employees to build and work in your apartments and hotels.

I really don’t recall this level of constant racist divide prior Brexit as someone that didn’t grow up in the 70/80’s

Whats happening in America, and to some lesser extent in Europe, is empowering the racist nobheads to crawl from under their stones. Whilst Brexit did elevate nationalism/patriotism to some degree, I believe the correlation with todays right wing world is largely coincidental

And the state of how some of the Flag Cunts are actually putting them up is embarrassing

Tie wrapping them up with loose ends, tatty old flags with some upside down etc. FFS, at least make it look tidy, seen some the other week on a street on every lamppost - not one of them flying at the same height.

I think the biggest cause by far is Elon Musk and social media , it’s a massive clickbait winner , it sets agendas and you have millions of people constantly being fed to hate Blacks, Muslims, Trans etc on their algorithms.
Then you have figures likes Andrew Tate, Russel Brand, Katie Hopkins, Tommy Robinson all finding a massive money making market going down this path.
It’s a vicious cycle being perpetuated by social media. Imo.

They ought to see someone if they are having trouble getting it up.

its such an emotive subject that any point made is going to be met with scorn or objection from one side or the other, the problem is the message that the flags are giving off, there is nothing wrong with a british flag being flown in britain and there shouldnt be and the fact that some people see it is an issue is part of the problem, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of where you come from and nobody should make you feel that their is and that goes for all countries.

In my opinion the problem lies in the message those flags are sending by the people that are putting them up and people being unable to separate being proud of where you come from and being an ignorant racist neanderthal the two are not intertwined but people are trying to make it so that they are and its the broad strokes of painting everyone with the same brush which is leading to the derision and environment that we are currently in.

I think the flags are a consequence of the rhetoric, not the cause.

I also think the rhetoric from all sides is making political violence more likely.
This, everyone is just stoking tensions from all sides and its leading to where we are now, its so odd that we currently in a society where everyone is terrified of offending anyone else but there is so much hatred and incredibly vicious discourse, its like certain people dont have a vested interest in everyone getting along and would much rather stoke tensions.

storm Amy did her work over the weekend. Turns out £3 flags off Temu are not quality products most I have seen are ripped to shreds, barely hanging on or gone with their presence only represented by a couple of lonely wire ties on a lamp post showing where they once were. True patriots would be undaunted and be out up ladders with a fresh batch of Temu flags to replace them. They won't do that of course because that requires long term commitment and they were all just flash in the pan band wagon jumpers waiting for the next fad to follow for a week or two

Movements(if this is what it is) gather momentum. Bastards like that slug Eyed **** who ran the BNP tried but could never get enough traction. In my experience people havent changed much since the 70s. Let me ask you this question it's often said people had more backward views on foreigners in the 70s, if that's the case then why has 2025 suddenly become the launch pad? Why weren't people putting up flags in these numbers then or the years just before or after Brexit?

If we are gonna draw a simple line between flag raisers/those who agree with it and those that dont im sorry to say these people havent just taken this stance, they havent been conned one way or another.
They have always been there, they now have a place to express it, safety in numbers if you like. Like any movement/opinion social media makes it easier to connect people. People haven't suddenly changed, they arent blind to the opposition media or people shouting racist, they just dont agree with them and never did.
We never had Harmony like Neville suggests, we have always been divided as a country on a multitude of things, I would imagine most countries are the same.

There isn't much point(copyright that Tache bloke) arguing about it anymore.

The powers that be can only do two things now I believe, attack full on or pacify those on the edges to bring back an uneasy balance. I think Starmer is choosing the second. How Starmer guys on here feel about that I couldn't say.

You may get lucky it might have maxed out in support and start to Peter out.
