PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Even if he does know the outcome or timing, out of professional courtesy and diligence, he would never say anything or give any indication as to outcome or confidence levels - at least, not until instructed by CFG to do so.
Very high up PL figures don’t live by the same standards. Especially around random members of the public they hardly know.

;)

I'm not doubting the validity of the response, but there is absolutely no way that they're divulging any sensitive information to some complete random that hasn't been vetted.

They may know nothing. They may have some knowledge. But the official line will be "we don't know" until the story breaks.

You will just accuse me of doctoring it or creating it myself. As I said, I'm happy to forward the emails to someone to verify by inspecting the headers etc.

Here's the preview from my phone though.

no one will be able to verify authenticity of a forwarded email outside your organization.

only possibility would be to contact the person in question.

As this is not a public issue but a case between an organisation and one of its members, I find it hard to believe these are genuine….. I’m sure the club would not be happy if he was corresponding with any Tom Dick & Harry (& you of course :-). ) about it
You don't have to believe it, that's your prorogative. It's just a speculative email from a City fan, enquiring about the case.

Well if it is true - I’m quite shocked that he entered into this conversation. It’s surely all confidential

Just my thoughts on his actions. I wouldn’t be pleased if I was a City board member

As long as he signs off with “don’t tell anyone” then I don’t see any issue…..

Now that you have established a professional relationship with David you should email every day. The day he doesn't say they haven't received it will be the day we know he has. And then you will be the first to know and can announce it on here.

:) It only says what it says. And it doesn't necessarily say what people are thinking it's saying. Lawyers are experts in saying things in a way that sounds convincing and that can eventually be "proven" to be right, whatever happens.

I'll take the poster's word it's a real reply. It's bizarre, though - the fact he replied, not the content. I have my doubts, though. Whenever he replies to my emails, he calls himself Dave ....
I am sceptical but it wouldn’t surprise me if no mainstream journalists had even thought to contact Pannick directly. Sometimes a cheeky email can reap dividends.

What confidence has he broken?
