Once this annihalation is confirmed it would be nice to hear Stokes or McCallum admit England were gash.

But they won’t. They’ll talk about fine margins etc and they won’t change their approach and Crawley will be confirmed as opening batsman for the next Ashes tour.

Well it's on the cards but I wouldn't say we haven't been competitive so quite a jump. England of old would have lost by an innings after that first innings score.
At this point the only way it won't be a white wash is if the Aussies take their foot off the gas after winning the series. They will definitely win the day night test in Brisbane and I would put good money on them making it 3 out of 3 and game over. This was our big chance and we blew it.

Diabolical performance today. Under prepared and under cooked. The batsmen have sold the bowling attack down the river. They produce that effort yesterday to get back into the game and we can't even bat 50 overs to give them a decent rest. I'm all for the positive intent but learn from the first innings. Batting gets easier after 20 overs. Just be sensible.

I watched and listened to a lot of podcasts yesterday the main vibe was we have this England in the box seat quite rightly, especially looking at the India v Australia game! Difference is India batted a lot smarter! We seem to have the knack to play a poor shot in an important time and when that’s batsman is set.

Australia bowing will improve our bowling was peak first innings and if our bowlers are knackered gets hardly bowling then if our batsmen don’t get the big runs this series will run away from us very very quickly!

Be interesting how we perform next test match we lose that the fight will go out of some of our bowlers very quickly knowing they’re are 3 test left in very hot conditions!

Now there is a long long way to go and thing can change but if we don’t at least get a draw out of this series(what I predicted) against one of the worse Australian sides it’s been another wasted 2/3 year build up to this series and a massive failure from everyone!

Were they actually watching when Starc and Boland were bowling, the line and length they were getting results on? Clearly fucking not. Still, it’s good to know that everything we have been doing for years is building up to this. Excellent

Hope springs eternal, eh? “Now is the time for heroes”, as the BBC had it. Yeah, right…
The plain fact is that the batsmen seem to be intimidated down under. They just can't deliver. It really is extraordinary where Root's concerned. He is one of the best men with a bat that England have ever had. No point in arguing about it. But in Australia? Forget it.
