Metrolink to / from Etihad

The club need to wake up and do something as the tram is the main source of transport.
From my house it's a 20 minute walk to Sale, yesterday I got to the Met at 6.05pm. I got to the ground at 7.15pm. That is disgusting.
I am luck as originally I was aiming for the 6.30 tram but thought better of it.
People have stopped attending night matches because the Met is so poor.

(I now get the Match Day bus home as I am sick of the Met.)
There was the usual pre match balls up somewhere on the network coming from Alty way I think which led to packed trams and platforms. On the way back done the usual walk from the ground to Piccadilly and just caught an Alty tram. As I've mentioned previously, they must be able to increase tram frequency pre and post match. Even for an hour before and after would help.

What are the club doing you ask...

You then answer your own question - the club lay on the match day buses, as they know the Metrolink can't be improved without significant disruption, time and expense.
Oh I agree with you but a match day bus holds 76 ? max. It's also £4 one way so a dearer than the Met.
We will soon have a new stand to fill, they will have to lay on a hell of a lot of buses to fill it. : -)

'People have stopped attending night matches because the Met is so poor.' Really ? Its not not that hard to get to and from the ground. Its a 25 minute easy walk back to Piccadilly , thousands do it after every game. There's also a pretty good bus system from Ashton New Road , outside the ground, that provides express services to more outlying areas of Greater Manchester. Im second guessing that those who get a tram back into town are the regulars who leave 10-15 minutes early and cant see a whole game out . Getting to the ground is pretty easy from St Peters Sq giving yourself 25-30 minutes before k.o. Best avoid Pic or Pic Gardens at that time.
No big football ground is a joy to get out of , whatever the mode of transport.

I get the train 13 mins and I am in picadilly then walk from picadilly to the ground, then walk back to picadilly after the game and train back home

Good post except my post was about getting to the ground. I also presume you didn't see that I posted I get the bus back from the match.
Perhaps you think it's a good idea to walk 20 minutes to the Met , change at Cornbrook, get off at Piccadilly and walk 25 minutes to the ground ?
That might be OK but again, the point I originally made was about stopping for 15 minutes simply because trams couldn't get into the sidings.
That isn't just one tram, the whole network is affected because trams get backed up queueing. That also means you could be stopped mid station unable to get out and walk.

And yes, people are pissed off with the poor transport infrastructure and will think about avoiding night matches.

I gave up reading at "pretty good bus system" Try waiting for one after a game in the pissing rain.

Some right wind up cunts on BM.

The match day buses are fantastic. Throughly recommend if you are nearby to one
To Ashton? There is the 222 (1 bus), ran by metroline, I use but it's often packed with early leavers and fucks off. Then you have to wait for a 216. I've waited 25 minutes a few times ......In the pissing rain.

Are you a regular tram user to and from the games?

The Ashton line it doesn’t even turn up until like 30 minutes after a game at times.

Yes but then you get to Piccadilly and it is too late to get a train home
Hence some people have stopped going
