Holidays

Vietnams brill, been 3 times. Prefer it to Thailand as its more laid back , although having said that I enjoy there as well .
In fact brothers out in Vietnam/Thailand at the moment doing a five week trip and I hope to catch up with him in Bangkok at the start of Feb
Where abouts you going ?

We went to Thailand last year and we really liked it.

This trip we are going to Hong Kong for a few days, then flying to Da Nang. Staying in Da Nang for 3 days then staying in a beachside bungalow near Hoi An for 3 days , then flying to Hanoi and having a few days there, then doing a 3 day cruise of Lan Ha Bay and Ha Long Bay, then flying back from Hanoi.

We've only got limited time in Vietnam, so had to leave quite a lot of things out that we want to do. If we visit again I fancy going to Sa Pa.

That's by Playa Del Carmen isn't it? My place is about 45 mins further along the coast. Dont venture onto 5th Avenue too much I've a feeling your patience will run out pretty quick!
It's airport side of Playa (30 min drive to Playa). I doubt we'll be heading into town. Been there, done that.
Been on that side a few times. further down and past Playa Del Carmen is nicer and we've been there a few times as well.
Hopefully the seaweed has fucked off.

Sa pa is brilliant - was there in 95 and crossed over the border into China and got the overnight train to Kunming.

We're in Chiang Rai at the moment. Very laid back and no bustle. Night bazaar with lots of music and dancing last night. An Irish bar for the match tonight!
EDIT, wish I hadn’t bothered

LMFAO at the 31 passengers left behind at Manchester airport when their JET2 flight to Alicante left without them because they took the wrong turn after the boarding gate and were in a corridor thinking a bus was coming!

Anyone ever been to Hawaii ?
Off there in September with a few days in Vegas and San Francisco either side

Someone is in for a bollocking minimum there as presumably that flight had some of their suitcases on unless every one of them had hand luggage only.

Clearly not done a head count.

Could be a sacking that due to the security lapse.

How on earth can that happen? 1 or 2 passengers missing you could understand as the plane probably isnt full at this time of year but nearly 40? Surely that's noticeable when they're walking up and down the aisle!

Just had to check the itinerary!
Honolulu
Lewes Street near Wiakiki has some restaurants, but if you want to save money, you have to eat everywhere before 7.00pm ish. There'll be 2 for 1 offers or discounts. Diamond Head is worth a visit/walk. Beaches are great, zoo ok.

Booked my day trips for Cape Town over the weekend (attempt at a Rag antidote).
Visits to Boulders Beach and Cape of Good Hope, Robben Island and the Aquila nature reserve.
4.5 weeks to go.

Take some nose plugs for Boulders beach, it’s great but does pong, don’t forget Dizzy’s in Camps Bay for further punishment watching us :-))))
