Oh I know that, CNN says he’s collected $150 billion off the USA tax payer, so it’s illegal and they’d have to pay it back.

People obviously didn't learn that Trump never pays back what he owes.

And to be honest.. Damage has already been done. It will be difficult for companies to rollback prices. Greedflation and Greifation are the 2 tenets fo this government and prices aren't realistically going down.

If anything they will just print more money which will lead to more inflation.

The tariffs had two purposes according to Trump.
1. To bring manufacturing back to the US. The number of employees in manufacturing has gone down in his first year.
2. To eliminate the US trade deficit. The deficit in his first year is a record high.
Well done, Don.
This sums it up.

He's basically done what liz truss did. They are heading for a sovereign debt crisis now.

Problem is - the importers will have an identifiable amount of tariffs to be refunded but, when they upped their prices to the consumer, the bill would not have been itemised to include the effect of tariffs. What legal process could enable the consumer to get a refund?

Just add the sum owed to the list of other sums that Trump promised and never delivered.

All his dumbass supporters still think they're getting a $2000 cheque from the non-existent DOGE savings.

By this definition do Christians - Orthodox Christians not have equal claim to the Middle East because they too were not from the area but follow a faith that originates there - Pope Leo could be Israel's PM

Tariffic?

How can that be true though, he keeps claiming a huge reduction in deficit - is that something different?
Presumably it's his idea of maths. If he has imposed a tariff based on a trade deficit then obviously that must clear the deficit. Ipso facto.

Or in his case, ipso fatso.

the weird thing is that, if they had these alternatives, why didn't they just put them in place instead?
Because the act he is quoting allows tariffs to be temporary only. After 150 days they cease unless Congress renews them.
What’s the betting he will not go back to Congress but keep them going until the case wanders up to SCOTUS in a few years, by which time he will be gone.
