Metrolink to / from Etihad

I notice at Old Trafford Cricket Ground Metrolink stop there is work going on clearing ground which looks like it could be a siding to hold a Tram on the Manchester bound side. This could be to have one parked up ready to depart instead of waiting for regular services. If this is the case (can anyone verify) it seems that preferential treatment is being given to some.
Well yes, after all, we do get big crowds at the cricket … twice a year ;-)

Nothing planned for more sidings there considering the depot itself is just up the road. More likely it’s for material storage ready for work at Cornbrook.

What there IS talk of is building a turnback for Ashton originating trams where the old police station used to be immediately to the west of Asda. Mainly to help keep the frequency between Velopark and Ashton but it might improve the service Etihad to Piccadilly.
Well tbh even if there were just more Ashton to Velopark only, that would be a big help, as it’s hardly a mission to the ground from there.

Absolute joke tonight. Waited 30 mins at cornbrook. Gave up, headed to market street and got McDonald's.

Jumped on a tram at market Street to piccadilly and was gonna walk. Tram got stuck outside primark for 10 minutes and then ended up heading to St peters square!

Why can’t they inform their paying customers what is going on, is it too much to ask.

I pressed the contact button at Navigation Road and after a few minutes spoke to an operative. He asked me the problem and I told him there had been no trams for 20 minutes. He said what do the boards say and I told him “sod all”. He said hang on then came back to me saying it was a Network Rail problem and the trams were turning round at Timperley.

I walked back to my car and told everybody I passed what was going on.

Metrolink are fucking dog turd, they don’t care two shits about their customers.

I had to get to the game to avoid a black mark from the Club, who also care little for their customers.

Waited 20 minutes for an Altrincham tram that was apparently 1 minute away after the match. This "service" really needs ripping up and starting again. It's an embarrassment
After re-locating from Navigation Road to Timperley, due to the Network Rail problem, I got an almost empty double to Cornbrook. Then what arrives a minute later but a single unit to the Etihad that was already crowded. By the time it got to Piccadilly Station it was rammed and there were hundreds of mainly concert goers that we left on the platform.

I am writing to them today as I am still seething, but I know nothing will come of it.

Awful last night going to the match. Managed to get on one at Cornbrook after a 10 min wait then had a door issue at Picc Gardens, another delay. Dogshit once again all round for events.

A total shit show last night. Northern rail chaos (sadly caused by a death on the line), scenes at Pic station with crying kids distressed at the crush as they tried to get to Co-op live. The disabled lift out of action. Almost three hours to my seat in block 308 from Preston. I left early last night for the first time ever because I felt ill and got a shuttle bus. Now I see why people leave early. Transport problems are just driving fans away.

Not sure who Mark is & why he'd be looking for you, but no need to bring up race.

Horrible going to the match somehow made it on time for the game

Coming back that woman shouting move up all the time wants to get a grip of herself.
No need for that all other staff manage so why not her.
Quiete a few angry blues last night at her.

Crikey, that's really bad. I think there was a signal problem on trains around Alty as well pre kick off which affected the trams. Who in their right mind thinks a patchy regular timetable is adequate on event days? Metrolink get a good butty from match and concert fans and in return they get treated like shite. Shocking at times.
