I thought the point of Easter was for the shops to sell lots of overpriced chocolate
As any FOC gardener type (like my dear old dad) will tell you. “Ne’er cast a clout ‘til May is out”. The big sheds will sell you bedding plants that shouldn’t be planted until frosts are finished. So peeps buy and plant them, frost and bad weather kill them, peeps shout at the big sheds for selling crap, and buy some more.its actually there for Wickes, B&M, B&Q and the like to start selling you plants that should have been planted a few weeks ago in the monsoon season we had, flat pack garden furniture and trampolines that will fly away forever in the next named storm.
Speaking of which - Storm Dave? Whats all that about? call him by his proper name Storm Rodney.
The may referred to in that saying is mayflower, from the hawthorn bush, which as it name suggests, usually flowers in early May.As any FOC gardener type (like my dear old dad) will tell you. “Ne’er cast a clout ‘til May is out”.
