Holidays

Thanks. Yes, we got lucky with the weather. But I’d never travel to Seville in summer anyway.
Guess when we went. Came out of our hotel on the first night at 8:30pm to go and eat and a thermometer on the wall outside a chemist was showing 93 degrees 8-)

Algarve (Olhao) for five nights on Saturday. Norway (expensive) for just over a week in June and then Budapest (marathon) in October. And, two nights in Harrogate to watch Barnet's last game of the season..

Is this a genuine concern? I was hoping to book 10 nights in Portugal for the start of June later tonight.

I need to look into whether Jet2 etc would refund should this be the case.
Bring plenty of money. The prices in albufeira are extortionate. 4-6.50 euros a pint, 14 euros for a gin and tonic. For a couple you need £200 a day for 2 meals a day and 6 drinks each.
Used to be cheap 2 years ago!

Hopefully staying 10-15 mins down the road. Chilled all inc with the kids but will bring a few quid too

Looks like vouchers for anyone with a holiday if this isn’t resolved me included shit.

Missus is 50 this year so we are pushing the boat out a bit and staying at one of the Ikos hotels in Halkidiki. They look great with quality restaurants and wine lists etc. Never been to Greece before as looks too hot for me but she convinced me and the daughter has been going on about Greece for years.

If it’s too hot I’ll just sit at the bar getting smashed!

I’d ask for a refund, many companies might not survive this and go bust so vouchers will be worthless, plus if they do comeback they will cost a fortune, they all bumped up the price after Covid to recover costs and they’ll do the same, plus they’ve never come back down the greedy bastards, holidays are getting out of reach for mist families now.

Depends what you mean by "after Covid". When we went to Valencia in October 2021, we got a bargain ~ £200 on Ryanair for the four of us. Ferran Torres obviously thought the same because he was on that flight :)

If the airlines cut flights, they will do like they do when there is bad weather. They will cut those routes where there are multiple flights in conjunction with other airlines eg, 15 flights/day LHR to AMS will be reduced to say, 8. routes with a single flight or 2 may well survive. Some routes may depend on where fuel is available. If there's a shortage in the UK, airlines will "tank" fuel from abroad so their UK uplift is reduced.

Let's hope with the ceasefires in place there wll be some movement through the SoH.

A lot of that was fear going and maybe getting stranded there and people not taking the vaccine or having to jump through hoops, after it all calmed down holidays we found had jumped considerably a £3k holiday was nearer £4k.
