UAP/UFO thread - Non-Human Intelligences

I suspect the universe is teeming with life however the chances of it being intelligent enough to make contact is slim, just think, if humans didnt evolve none of the thousands of species on earth would even comprehend space.

Which is why imo that makes it more rather than less likely.

We are relating that to a scale we can comprehend. Bring one - of the thousands of species, on one single planet, over a period of a couple billion years.

We can't even quantify the time or numbers involved beyond that, to comprehend the chances of it happening elsewhere.

I do like that thought btw. But it is bit like a penguin explaining to another penguin the impossibility of flight, because they think are the only animals with wings. Or a dog explaing to another dog the impossibility of remote communication beyond earshot, because they are the only animals that bark.

The chance of dealing one 52 card deck in a specific order, yeah sure, the odds are miniscule.

But the cance of dealing that specific order with billions of decks being dealt repeatedly over billions of years becomes far more likely. And not just once.

And then make that number infinite, beyond comprehension, and it becomes almost impossible not to get that order dealt.

Firstly, our observable universe is very finite.

Second, you’ve just beautifully proven my point about people not understanding probabilities intuitively. You could deal that deck of cards once every millisecond since the big bang (1x10^20 milliseconds) at the location of every star in the observable universe (1x10^24 stars) and the chances of you dealing it in a perfect order just once is still only 0.00000000000000000000001%.

My thoughts too.

Also I hope we never find life because we'll somehow destroy it.

Take your word on the mathematics of it, but as many scientists agree on the probability and likelyhood of life in the universe, I will treat the deck of cards analogy as pointless, even if technically accurate. 'Observable' being kinda key to it too, but lets not split decks.

I think it's possible we have had life visit us, it's also possible we haven't.

The question is why haven't the astronomers or scientists detected it? What if it's undetectable?

I think when it comes to Space and life off this world we don't know, anything is possible. Look at the fermi paradox and the possibility life has developed so far we can't see it.

What's also mental is where does space end? Surely it can't go forever? But that's my human brain relying on what i know. So maybe it does?

The universe is constantly expanding, so there is no end to it.

The Phoenix Lights is one that fascinates me. If anything is going to be released in some files, I hope that’s included.

All im saying is some of our most intelligent posters(seemingly )have a narrow mind. The width of an average Rizla paper i think.

Just because you can't something doesn't mean it isn't there. I've seen a UFO btw and no narrow minded **** on here will convince me otherwise.
But only narrow minded cunts attribute it to an extraterrestrial source.

sounds like a religious fanatic TBH.... ;-)

Where did you see the UFO mate ?
Night Fishing in August 84 on a millpond next to Cheethams park Stalybridge. Was fishing with a mate and we both saw it about 3am. Heard news on my radio at 5am that a UFO was spotted in Stalybridge Oldham and Rochdale. Was picked up on radar by Manchester Airport control tower.
