I worked with Jimmy 2 years ago, just before he had his brain haemorrhage. Fucking top lad, brilliant laugh, had us in stitches every day. I hope this comeback really takes off for him after the struggles he's had these last few years.

Last Thursday week went to see the Love Band and Johnny Echols who were back at Band on the Wall.

One of the many things I love about their gigs is the age range. There's plenty of bands that get an older crowd and then have become popular with youngsters but I reckon you could have gone from 80 down to 18 and found people from every single decade. Great songs will always have an audience; they're not high profile gigs but they are joyous.

Johnny Echols is 79 and still cool as fuck.

Just got back from Manchester International where I saw the first of three performances today of Anno : Four Seasons by Anna Meredith and the Halle strings.
A thoroughly entertaining multi media performance that had us all entranced for an hour.

I saw Dry Cleaning on Friday night here in Toronto. Great show and the band sound tight as fuck. They played a lot from their latest album but also stuff from every record going back to their first e.p. I'll definitely be seeing them again the next time they roll into town.

At Manchester Cathedral last night for the Luminisence show with a brilliant gospel choir performing songs celebrating the Cathedral and Manchesters history with Chris Eccleston narrative and a light show.thrown in as well.
45 mins of brilliance.So many highlights.
Loved every version but the best was the Elbow song at the end.
A must visit especially if you stay local.On to June 5 so not much time left.

Went to see Tricky in Dublin. Worst gig of my life. Adrian you have to sing your songs mate, people made an effort to see you and show love in a performance. Not the shite you dissed out. Fucking disgrace of a gig.

Going to see DMA'S at Rock City Nottingham, they are playing Hills End, which for me is their best album.

Stayed in London after Cup Final to see Paul Simon in the Palladium on Monday night. It was really wonderful, and included a stunning rendition of the Sound of Silence as the final encore.

Caught Hadestown in the West End on Sunday afternoon too. Great show, and will be going again!

Hadestown is phenomenal. Easily one of the best things I’ve seen at the theatre in the last 5-10 years.
