VAR Discussion Thread

The only thing wrong with VAR is the way it is currently applied in its entirety. Pictures on the screen like they have in rugby and cricket, public address in real time as to what is being deliberated and we'll see how we go from there.
Can you imagine the public announcements “the VAR is currently working with the SKY producer to find an angle that will enable City’s goal to be disallowed, and a penalty awarded to (insert whichever cartel club)”.

Var isn’t a bad thing but the cunts officiating it are useless. If we get rid of var the cunts will have a free hand to do exactly what they want with no checks on them.

Var isn’t perfect in fact it’s a long way from it. But the alternative doesn’t bare thinking about.

Bollocks I didn't it was corruption in plain sight. Liverpool scored 13 goals that should have been ruled out for offside in 2018/19 when we beat them to the title by one point. Thank god the matchball had a chip in it for the Stones clearance.
The match ball doesn’t have a chip The goal line tech is run by multiple cameras which are in the stands this is why we had one instance maybe an Everton game where the tech failed

They do that anyway, pgmol are the most corrupt set of officials given leeway to change the whole dynamics of a game.

Howard Webb is stealing a living, even more than he did as a referee !

So then, Szezko’s goal was not ruled out because there was inconclusive evidence that it hit his hand. Hmmm, remember Haaland at Spurs? Var said the same, no conclusive evidence that Haaland did commit hand ball; then the assistant var chirped up that neither was there conclusive evidence that Haaland didn’t commit hand ball. Different reviews for different teams, as we know too well

I'd say I'm quite a good judge at those sort of incidents over the years judging whether catches are taken cleanly in cricket or a photo finish in a race I'd say it was utterly conclusive the ball brushed his fingers and they were gaslighting us again.

Or how about not having to explain every decision they make to the players/fans/media and just get on with the game.

And ten mins later my stream showed conclusive proof that it hit his fingers and the spin/direction of the ball cahnged.

Particularly at corners. It's as obvious as the flag at the corner that they don't want to give a penalty - it'd be interesting to see how many frees are given to a defence compared to how many pens are given for wrestling, manhandling and tackling with arms. And for some players and teams the finger-wagging is an alternative to a yellow where other players and teams don't have the option of a finger-wagging.
