Player thread: James Milner (2014/15)

There are some kind of new twitters or sources here about, that really confirm or back up this gossip that he´s almost signing for Liverpool???

Because everyone here sounds like "its already done, mate"... :/

I´ll like better to wait and look whats happen...

I can definitely see a scenario in which Milner spearheading a Liverpool victory in say, the FA cup, and being recognised as a key contributor in that, is better than being seen as a peripheral figure whilst Aguero, Silva and Yaya won the league. Who knows, maybe its just about trying to get back to enjoying his football.

Wonder what he will say when he's sat alongside Brenda at the press conference?

Playing time
Centre midfield
History
Massive club
I was hypnotized by Brendon's teeth
Oh my god what the fuck have I done?

If they did win the FA Cup with him as a major contributor, then I can see that as a better situation for him than being on the periphery of City.

He played in 45 matches for us this season that's more then Hart! It's nothing to do with playing time if he leaves its for a payday which is fair enough. Will miss his work rate but as high as I rate him I think he will weaken the starting eleven of our rivals if he goes to Liverpool or arsenal I rate Coutinho, Henderson, lallana, Sterling, Gerrard, Wilshere, Ozil, Ramsey, Cazorla and Sanchez as more of a creative threat then Jimmy I know he works his socks off tracking back but I would rather see Milner name in the starting eleven against us then any of those players. I still hope he stays as his attitude is second to none but if he goes fair play we will no doubt find a more then capable replacement maybe promote a youth player.

Will be a real shame to lose him.

The only two things I can think of for him going are a huge signing on few due to Liverpool paying no transfer few and that he might have been guaranteed a regular central midfield role.

I feel a little sad about it to be honest.

He's not and never will be good enough to be a consistent starter in a team that challenges for the league and champs league. That's why he's willing to join a top 10 side like Liverpool rather than compete with world super stars week in week out.

He"ll become world class now and Hodgson will play him in every England game probably in midfield! Liverpool have got a really top professional in the pitch he has 2 faults as a player and it's he gives the ball away a lot plus the final ball is not that great.. good luck to him
