We're playing a blinder on this. Their idiotic fans don't seem to understand that we're in a far better bargaining position. The closer it gets to deadline day, the more desperate they will become. They need the cash more than we need the player and I don't see anyone else meeting their valuation.

I read it as a bit more than speculation.

It's still not "transfer news". It's been reported, all day, by anyone able to type, that City won't pay £50m for Sterling. To send out a "teaser tweet" suggesting you've got new news, aimed at attracting attention and dragging people in, then to just say "You know that thing everyone else has said all day, well guess what, we're saying it too" is piss taking of the highest order.

We seem to be playing hard ball with Sterling and Pogba even thought we probably know know they won't budge on asking price.

Seems a bit strange considering Mullock said last week we wanted transfer deals to go through quickly before the tour.

All part of the transfer charade or things changed?

We should all know better than to be drawn in by that Raggy Rag.

Just because I can't be bothered typing out all the individual usernames, consider this a gift to the fucking lot of you.

If we were to pay the full asking price for Sterling in particular it would send out completely the wrong message about where the club is at right now. £50m is too much when Liverpool know they stand to have a year of having an unhappy player who will then leave for nothing.

5-10 minutes, but it always seems longer when things don't load. Have a look at the time of my first post about the server struggling and that will give you the exact time.

A 4 minute sludge is something that I must admit that I'm out of ideas on how to protect against. The problem is that our load balancing software looks for a certain metric then automatically adds additional web servers into our system if the traffic is bad. Unfortunately this takes 60-120 seconds for the process to detect it then get the servers online during which time that breaking news happens users will get that slowdown.

We've done a lot to stop the site falling over entirely and hopefully people will just be able to cope with that small downtime.

I'd like to point out that right now we have the record number of users simultaneously online, or at least since right after the Bayern game in 2013 if memory serves, and the site hasn't gone down and we only had slowdown for a few minutes so we are certainly making progress on it.

Especially when said player has told his current manager that he no longer wants to play for him.

This has considerably strengthened our position, IMHO.

It's usually the buying club who get desperate at a deadline, and if Liverpool are desperate for cash they would set the fee at a reasonable price to get the quick cash windfall right.

FSG is full of former hedge fund managers and stock gamblers and with their business acumen they are trying to get the max possible and more for an asset you want.

Liverpool hold the cards, they know you need HG players hence the price quoted.

I see it as 45+5 add ons or straight 50.
