And to be fair I remember some of their coaches outside the Kippax getting smashed to fuck after we got relegated under Ball. I can remember to this day them sat on their coaches laughing through the windows and singing "going down" and then the sudden change of expression on their faces when they realised that City fans surprisingly weren't really in the mood for their hilarious scouse wit™.

Read it, its stats, what has that got to do with a player we have offered £40M for? No other club is interested at that price, the player wants away from Liverpool. If they keep him what will they do with him? carry on paying him a £1M a year to play with the kids? Why should we be held to ransom in a market with one buyer and send a signal out to all other clubs that we will pay what they ask? Look in the mirror before you call others clueless.

If £40m up front would get the deal done then I would hope it wouldn't be a week between bids again.

Surely after the first bid there would have been discussions regarding add ons and such and the club would have known Liverpool's stance regarding additional money which may never materialize.
