If he ain't coming this season I hope to fuck we don't need him next season we should have bought another player and moved on .
If we haven't someone really needs fukin.
Talking of attitude what kind of attitude does delph have when he tells a club he is coming then doesn't bother

Who exactly said he said he was coming ? He was offered terms and turned them down. There was no u turn as been made out by the press. We activated his release clause spoke to the player who wanted to think it over and his representatives came back with a no. Simple as that

Put yourselves in his position. We have
Toure ,Fernandinho and are trying to sign DB and Pogba for what will be in excess of £100 million. He'd have to be pretty arrogant or deluded to think he's displacing any of those 4.

I bet you fucking told him not to sign!
;)

Wasnt Micha out in the papers and warned English talent about moving to City? I have a lot of respect for Micha but thats low. The best RB in the league took his position and the only reason Micha didn't get more gametime is because he couldt keep hinself healthy. I would like to see how many games Zab and Micha have each, post-takeover. I dont think its that uneven

Just dawned on me...

The often quoted 'failure' at City - aka Scott Sinclair ended up at the very place Delph is as now (Villa). So it seems a spectacular fall into mediocrity for Sinclair is a 'sensible option to stay' for Delph?
Had it not worked out with City, he'd have been no worse off really - and could have easily dropped down to a Villa level club without too much shame.

And I think it TH who said welcome to Manchester

Egfuckinxatly. He would be have earned a paycheck most of teammates will have never seen before. He could even leave with a PL medal. Or lay claim to the fact that he has played In the CL. Everyone else is talking nonsense.

My answer is, I don't know. It isn't my job, and I have not spent a substantial part of my life gaining experience in how to acquire assets from people or institutions who are not neccessarily willing to part with said assets.

Ok cheers for your opinion then mate

If I'd have been him, I'd have moved to City. Played with some fantastic players and found out if I was good enough or not. I might have raised my game and seen off one of them, all the while with a little 'protection' of being homegrown (not much protection but maybe affords him a bit of leeway).
I'd be thinking 'I can oust Fernando, and if I raise my game, I might manage to oust Fernandinho' - he can't be sure Pogba or KdB are coming, but he can probably be sure Toure won't be a regular in 2 seasons. He had a fighting chance, chose not to take it. I would have.

As I stated on this we put the bid in and it was up to the player. We could not offer the reassurances on how many games he would start and he made his decision clear to us stating that play time was needed because he wants to go euros. To be honest to him fair enough. Don't be suprised to see him here next season.

don't get it the rags have players in the England team that are not regular starters so why does he think he wouldn't keep his England place?

Did anybody at the club ever actually say we were ever interested in Delph or made a bid?........just a thought. Matbe the whole thing was just a bad guess by one reporter, then others jumped on the 'story'?

I don't think we should be hanging around as such however if things go our way with pogba which is looking hopefull from the club's perspective we don't need to sign anyone instead of delph. It was a combination of his age and nationality that made the deal attractive and this could still be the case next year.

I for one am pleased this has fallen through. We need players who are better than what we have & he doesn't fit that bill. The only good thing about the deal was he was home grown.
plus he has bags of energy that we desperately need in our midfield, two footed, a decent tackler, an English international and proven at premiership level....nah we don't need anyone like this... ???

I think we pulled out knowing there is a twist on the Pogba deal, I think Delph was a back up plan and the kid has tried to appease Villa fans by coming out and say it was all his idea.

Not looking for a fight honest
I really wanted him at City but surely we hopefully by next season will have brought through or signed another player of his ilk
