This must be the first time a player has rejected us because he felt we were too good for him?!

By all accounts it had all been agreed yesterday and he must have thought it all through so for him to have changed his mind so late is more than a little odd.

My hunch is that someone from within the England setup had a word to dissuade him from coming, told him that if he stayed at Villa he was nailed on for the Euros and if he would jeopardise that by signing for us.

It's shame as I think he'd have been a good signing for us. Fernandinho is now the wrong side of 30 and the other Fern is garbage so it's clearly an area that needs addressing.

Sorry to halt the debate.

How do you copy a quote on this new format?

Can't be arsed going through all the technical threads.

The whole thing smells of fish. Since when did an Ingerlund player move with so little fuss for less than £10mil? Nobody at city has ever stated we were in for him either - media bollocks the lot of it.

You can't put a statement up on the club website and go against it, surely?

We will move on now.

Figured it out!

I just think with the time still left in the window the opportunity might be too much for him to resist and he will change his mind.

Obviously City may not proceed but as a player how can you possibly want to stay at Villa rather than play with some of the best players in the world and fight for trophies?
