James McCarthy

Some people really do have low standards. Adam Lallana is a more talented player and he has struggled at Liverpool, what are the chances McCarthy will struggle if he came to City?

Not a big enough signing for us IMO

Really don't get the hype around John Stones either, looks no better than Phil Jones for me.

I bet Madrid beat us to him !

What part of my post said I'd want him? I just found it hilarious that he's kicking up a fuss because Pele is on more than him. The spoilt ****.

It wasn't aimed at you, i was talking about posters previously in this thread who were just generally raving about both of the Everton lads.

I like him, I think he's a good player, nothing special.

I'd be okay if we swapped him for Fernando, similar players and it would open up a foreign spot.

it's all about perception

some 'fans' have been eulogising about Stones, no one has about McCarthy

Yeah true, but we should not even consider players like McCarthy if we want to aim as far as possible in the champions league, not good enough IMO. Chelsea and Utd won't be targeting him, thats a fact.

Same goes for Stones, if anyone in this thread can enlighten me on why Stones is an amazing player, go ahead... because they must be watching a completely different player to me. Everton class at best. City class is 10 steps above and they don't fit the bill.

He'd be a great signing. I'd like to see him come in and then replace Fernando with a more well rounded and technical player like Aranguiz.

Vey under-rated player.

I thought Delph would have been a good signing, but McCarthy is a level above Delph.

The biggest issue would probably be the fee.

The prospect of dealing with Everton for one of their players absolutely thrills me.

The fee being talked about for Spurs was £15m-£18m. That'll obviously go up to at least £25m if we make a bid.
