Wolfsburg is set to give KDB a deadline for a transfer. I wanted to post this earlier: There is no way KDB will be a deadline day signing. Wolfsburg will not do this, and I think even KDB will agree that this is stupid - everybody would. I have no idea what the f*cking problem is, but HURRY UP.

I agree acess87.....I dont know whats going on behind closed doors but its seems pretty clear Wolfsburg have been waiting for a bid for a while and as they are not a club that needs the money or wants to sell the player, i can see it getting to a point where they wouldnt have enough time to find replacements and would just take him off the market completely....they going to want to re-invest this money back into the team and the later it gets the less likely they would be able to do this....
 
What if with Jovetic gone we have 1 foreign spot open, we're trying to get Dzeko out to make 2 spots. Our first choice for that spot is Pogba so we are hanging back a little on KDB to see if we can still make Pogba happen. Once Dzeko is gone then maybe we will buy KDB as we will still have a spot open for Pogba.
 
Thought we had 2 spots left, with dzeko and jovetic departing,wouldn't lose any sleep over nasri going, seems a bad egg to me!!

I think the feeling is Kelechi is going to take up Jovetic's place on the squad so we need to sell Dzeko before we can bring in De Bruyne.....we would then need to loan out or sell another player to be able to bring in Pogba...

Our midfield is so unbalanced. We need Central midfielders yet we seem to have attacking mids in abundance!

I think that's true but if Pogba was coming I 'd expect one of Nasri, Fernando or Navas to make room.

Kelechi is under 21 so doesnt take up a foreign player spot
 
Agree with most of the above central midfield is a priority not wide attacking players pogba first then de bryune if we can shift nasri/navas

thanks bluegray....there is a thread in the BM forum on HG players etc.....been trying to get my head round why we need to sell/loan out anymore players before we can bring in De Bruyne...

If we do sign DeBruyne, it doesn't make sense having both of Nasri & Navas to me & I would expect one or both to be less than delighted. But then if we move Dzeko out, there is no law says we can't use them, so we may just put up with any potential sulk, & move them on next season/January.

Nasri to Juve would make perfect sense for both sides but perhaps wages would be a problem.

A - definitely. He would be one of our best players as soon as he arrived. One of the best attacking midfielders in Europe - as shown by the fact he set a new record for assists last year in the Bundesliga, despite having to supply 2 awful strikers. And he's young as well, so the "years to come" bit should be taken care of.

B - I swing both ways on this. Sometimes I think £50m is a bit too much, but then I think of players like Bale going for almost double that at the same age - and there really isn't that much difference between de Bruyne's last season and Bales last season at Spurs. Certainly not in terms of his influence on the league and team.

He has only had 1 season at that world class level, but the season before when he was on loan, he was still very good - good enough to improve us. It's clear he made a big step up last season, but it's not a flash in the pan. And like with Sterling, I suppose you pay extra for potential as well. He could possibly go on to be even better - especially with the likes of Aguero, Sterling and Silva alongside him instead of Bendtner, Bas Dost and Perisic. It's not ridiculous to say he could be on the shortlist for Ballon d'Or - after all he was voted as Bundesliga POTY ahead of the likes of Muller, Ribery and Robben, who have all been there before.

As for winning titles, Sterling-Silva-De Bruyne behind Aguero would be the kind of attack that wins Champions Leagues. It would be one of the best, second only to Barcelona as far as I'm concerned.

Not as much as you would think due to most being bonus related now!

I'd be ok with Delph, Fernandinho, Yaya, Fernando and Zuculini as our central midfield options if we can't bring in Pogba. Fernando is injury free, and like Zuculini he's looking twice the player he was last season. If we can't get Pogba there's room for Zuculini in the squad and he looks more and more like a good player who got sent on a bad loan, than a bad player who deceived us all last summer on tour. 4-3-3 will rejuvenate Yaya as well, like we saw in the 6 game end of season winning streak where we played Lampard-Yaya-Fernandinho.

I'd like pogba, but our current midfield will not stop us from challenging for titles.

The problem with that is bonuses still count. If his base pay of £Y is fairly small, but he's accustomed to taking home £X every week because he usually fulfils our easy to reach bonuses, he's going to demand £X/week from Juve, not £Y
