What did Chelsea get for him a year ago or thereabouts?
Don't want to be too cynical but this amount being bandied around is a fair swag for a player Jose didn't want not a season ago and he hasn't played in the toughest league in Europe since.
 
Hoping there's no glitches with this one and we get our first glimpse at the open training on Wednesday!

£18m. He was a young player then and had Hazard in front of him. You know he's the German Footballer of the Year so that should dispel worries about his quality and transfer value.

Chelsea sold Matic and bought him back. We all know that players can develop from good players at 20 to great players 3 or 4 years later.

People really need to get over the fact he left Chelsea. mourinho is a twat who made a mistake letting him go.

You might as well say "are we really sure we want Pogba when Ferguson didn't want him".
 
Where is he going to be played? It seems to be the general consensus that we will go into the season playing 433.
No way have we spent c.£85m on KDB and Sterling for them to rotate- so, our front 3 will be sterling,silva, aguero in most games I think. Which means, KDB will be in a midfield position, alongside yaya and dinho/delph.

Does this solve our midfield issues. Going forward we will be the best team in the league, but does that formation and personnel solve the midfield issue if teams overload their midfield with energy.

I'd imagine 4231 makes us a bit more solid. With KDB, silva and sterling as a 3 behind aguero.
At the start of the window there was the feeling that yaya will play a smaller role in the season than usual - has this changed?

He also sold Ibrahimovic, Mata, Robben and Luiz (who then knocked him out of the CL).

Yeah, but when he does sign (hopefully) we all know he'll be labelled a "Chelsea reject" by the press tossers!
I'm sure he'll be bang up for the rent boys!

If his medical was on Monday, that'd be perfect for this. I'm hoping it happens quickly.

Ric said we'd probably here something yesterday or today, so I'm thinking we hear about an official bid and it getting accepted today or tomorrow.

Then he jumps on a plane tomorrow evening, Monday he does the medical and signs .

Gets spotted in the stands at west brom that evening.

Then they go really big on the open training session and turn it into something almost a bit like when Real do those presentations in the Bernabeu when they make a big signing.

They already did loads of CityTv stuff for both sterling and delph's first training sessions.

See Dzeko news: Could slow it down. I'm not sure if that has any impact at all but the two deals are linked I timing at any rate. Depends on where we are up to with the squad rules

Why does it matter wherever Mourinho wanted him a year ago? It's been shown on a few occasions that he doesn know how to deal with players who are as attacking and direct as the likes of KDB. The fact Mourinho would prefer a team of hardworking clones who give up their right to express themselves on the pitch is his problem. I imagine there'd be no place for the likes of Silva in a Mourinho team.
Being the very best player in the bundesliga is a bit different from some far flung league who nobody pays attention to.
It's not you being cynical, I'd say it's more you haven't watched enough of him and don't see how much he can bring to our team.
We'll pay what's needed to get one of the best young players in the world.

Fair comment, I've not seen him play since he left Chelsea but he was the player of the year last season. Players improve at different rates, due diligence will have been done. Hopefully he'll prove Jose wrong!
