I've read most of those posts, and I think you were reading what you wanted to read. I don't think anyone has posted about planes on standby and TH's post about signing tomorrow wasn't even opinion, its was hopeful.

Just going off the 95% done (no offence meant by the way) waiting planes and THs usually spot on prediction that tomorrow he could sign only for dates to come and go.
Ha, no offence taken although that 95% figure is something that keeps getting thrown back at me. I didn't arbitrarily come up with that figure by the way, I was just repeating what I was told. Clearly it was premature, but deals of this magnitude are complex and fluid. Things change. I've learnt my lesson though, and keep timescales I'm told to myself now! It's not worth the hassle passing them on.

The $64000 question (small potatoes by comparison) is ..... What is the figure when we say no thanks and walk away?Going off the fee we paid for Sterling,I'd say City are more than prepared to pay £50-£55m.

Be glad when this window is over. Tony Pullis just said on match of the day they will be making lots of signings - it should end before the season starts. Makes it a bit of a farce. We will get this lad I am sure by the way.

Set-up an "adults only" section where any such information that is shared is received in the spirit that is given and the originator respected for doing so.

Yes but we bought him knowing Tevez was agitating for a move. We managed to keep Tevez, but had to get a replacement in place.But Sergio didn't replace Tevez. He was here 2 for two seasons alongside Tevez.
Tevez had already handed in a transfer request in 2010 before Aguero arrived.
Then after the Bayern fiasco in 2011, both City and Tevez wanted to part company but couldn't find a suitor (for the right price).
Aguero was Tevez's replacement, but in the end they overlapped.

That was The Star, not The Sun I think. If Martin Blackburn reports something then I'd treat it more credibly; he seems to be in favour at City at the moment.

I don't think Wolfsburg will push us enough for us to walk away,just think they are trying their luck,as most selling clubs do.

I don't think cobwebcat has been disrespectful or childish.
He's just suggested that if the ITK's sources keep thinking its close, and then a week later we are still there, it does suggest the sources themselves, and thus the club, don't have a firm grip on how close the deal is or isn't. A pretty fair question actually.
Easily explained by the backwards one step forwards two step nature that these big transfers seem to have, but not an unfair question.
To be honest worse than people disrespecting ITK posters is the bunch of people who go around condemning and insulting anyone who dare asks a question.

Yeah true enough. Never seen such a weird transfer as this particularly given Wolfsburg's quotes.

The Star reckons they want £50m and we've offered £45m plus £2m in add ons. Personally I reckon he's worth £50m but if Txiki plays it right I reckon we can get him for £45m plus £5m in add ons. If the add ons are like Sterlings's: £1.5m for winning the CL, £1m for winning the PL etc that would be a great deal. We'll see how good a poker player Txiki is. One way or the other I reckon he's ours.

True enough - in fact both are the kind of "contributions" perpetrated by tossers. Hence my "adults only suggestion. Real grown-ups wouldn't behave like that with fellow Blues would they?
