Otamendi

What a shit problem to have ;)

City seem to be showing a new, more single-minded streak. We probably need it to move to the next level. I say single-minded rather than ruthless because we have stayed classy.
I’d definitely call it ruthless if we’ve convinced Denayer to sign a new 5 year deal on the premise of him getting first team game time, to only a month later make a signing that virtually guarantees he won’t get a sniff of Premier League football.

It’s not just that we might lose Denayer either, it’s the message it sends to the rest of the EDS lads or other young talents we look to bring to the club.

Really hate that wipe your fanny nonsense. The utterings of a juvenile sexist methinks. Back to the football. I think you are accrediting me with all the posts on here you haven't liked.

I have praised the Sterling signing several times including in the post you couldn't resist coming on and having a dig at me. As once you said to me we don't like each other just let's leave it at that.
I think people that say "methinks" as pseudocockwombles.

I am feeling excited about Otamendi but equally sad for Denayer. I think the reason he is pissed that he is now ranked 5th in the preference order, below Demichelis

l think this is an excellent signing and today we are a better team becuase of it......We can now send Denayer out on loan (maybe to a team like Everton) and he will then join us next season, hopefully after having starting prem experience and take Demichelis place in the squad.....think this is excellent business. De Bruyne is the big one now....get that over the line and perfect summer for us!!......
So if denayer has a another great season on loan what happens next season? he would still be behind three centre backs

Maybe the masterplan is to revert kompany back into midfield? or even denayer.

So you think denayer will go out on loan for four or five years?

Chelsea have been doing this for a decade and haven't promoted a single player. You need to give players a chance like liverpool did with sterling.

I didn't say he specifically would go out on loan for that amount of time but Kompany is pushing 30 with a bad injury record and Demi is on his last season if he doesn't leave this window. He could still find himself in the first team squad this season as one of four centre backs and with injuries, suspensions and cup games get plenty of playing time.

I have no knowledge of this Otamendi guy as i have not seen him play often enough but a lot of pundits reckon he is the real deal. I would guess we were in for him as soon as he was available based on our centre backs form last season and in pre season. Nobody would have guessed they would suddenly hit the ground running as they have.Either way tough competition should ensure that remains the case.

I have just read what Denayers agent has said and he and Jason are both very calm. They were told no more C/B's back I guess this was too good to let slip especially as the rags were in the queue. If Denayer is good enough he will play plenty this season. He will in time become 4th choice once Delph is playing. Martin has only been on the bench before him to cover DM.

Adding another world-class Argie to our ranks, get in there! Just hope now Denayer will be loaned out to a good premier league outfit (Everton?) so he can gain some invaluable PL experience.

Fair points, kenzie. We don't know what was said to Denayer and I'm really hoping we do the best by him. Let's agree City are showing a new cutting edge, which means they won't be able to please everybody.

Damning the club with faint praise.

Sterling is a great player but in 3 or 4 years he will be off to Madrid or whoever. The two Chelsea players were both Londoners. What we need is a couple of players who are not southerners who are going to be hankering after a move down south.

You still think Kun's gonna leave too because of how shit we are?

Is it possible that Denayer will keep his place in the pecking order as 4th choice? With Demichelis being either let go or used even more sparingly? If the plan is to have 3 senior pros and one good youth prospect as our CBs then perhaps it's Demichelis being pushed out rather than Denayer?
