Everton could be a decent shout if Stones goes to Chelsea. Kenwright's not one for splashing the cash, so a loan deal might suit them.

It would be great for us and for Denayer. He gets much needed prem experience but without any risk to us. I'm not sure Everton would want him under those circumstances, but it depends how they see it. They could look at it as a cheap option and it gives them a year in which to find Stones replacement, but I'm not sure if their ego could take being a nursery for a club most of them still think of as beneath them.

If his deal goes through it will be because the staff feels it's on behalf of Denayers' progress to go on loan for another year in probably a stronger league adding more and valuable playing time instead of spending too many minutes on the bench. Demichelis is in his final year so next term Denayer comes in hopefully even better than he already is. I am however a strong believer in a CB duo being experienced and play along side eachother as much as possible.

Agreed, if it's the difference between chelsea getting a player they want, and not getting him.
I hope Chelsea do end up spending the rumoured 40m on John Stones to be honest. I dont think he will significantly improve them and it will put a fair dent in the rest of their spending plans. He could turn out to be great, but it's a big gamble and id rather they do that then go for someone else who is already the finished product.

And as much as a few of us rate Denayer, I very much doubt that his availability will be the deal breaker for Everton on this one! Assuming they want him (which is a pretty big assumption), a season of regular football at a club like Everton will tell us a great lot about how good he actually is. Stopping it from happening in an attempt to indirectly inconvenience Chelsea would be cutting off our nose to spite our face.

He has all the qualities to be a great defensive mid, he's a bit shorter than vinny and manga and he's really quick and has an amazing determination to go after the ball

Infact they do.. however we do get some back from dezko,Jovetic,Negredo this year.

Unal was what 2 million the only questionable one was Roberts. I heard 5 million upfront with add ons might be wrong but i highly doubt it was more than 8 million upfront which is would have to be to make that quote correct.

Seriously, every single vine this lad has posted is a red card in the prem.

Funking worried now!

I watched one of those youtube highlights videos the other week when this rumour was first reported but looked more likely he was heading to united. There was probably about a dozen tackles in the video and I counted at least half of them would be red cards here. I said earlier today, he seems to base his defending on last ditch all or nothing defending which isn't what we want when we've got Kompany doing that already. in a partnership you need 1 to stay on their feet, be calm, positionally brilliant and ready to cover your partner if he fails to win the ball diving in, hence why MDM looked so good next to Kompany. I'm not going to say it won't work because we just don't know until we see it, but it will be interesting to see how he and Kompany perform together.

Been out to Watch Oxford tonight is this done?

It's off. Just seen a video of him at a Danish award ceremony this evening, where he was tricked into saying he is staying at Valencia, by a Hungarian interviewer, who asked him all the questions in Japanese. Gutted.

We'll need at least five center backs if he doesn't learn to stay on his feet.

Disagree about the YouTube comments. It's a highlight reel. It's not going to show him doing a bit of good positional play or shepherding it out for a goal kick. It is going to show the last ditch goal saving stuff. He's not all about waiting for the opposition to get in a goal scoring position before deciding he needs to do something.

Never judge a player of YouTube.

I posted somewhere on here that he was the guy that I really didn't want United to get. He is going to be fantastic in the Prem (once he learns how not to be sent off).

I still haven't got over Samaras.

Who do I blame for this?

UEFA/Platini/whoever for being too lenient?
Otamendi for being a glory-hunting cock?
Woodward for not trying?
LVG for not wanting?
Redcafe transfer thread for getting my hopes up?
FM2013 for even alerting me to this guy?

Actually I'm going to vent it all towards Johnny Evans

For some reason I found the highlighted bit rather amusing. Want to win trophies? Join City.
