De Bruyne?

would rather we now used the kev money to get pogba or gundogan for midfield and let Samir get more game time.

Why are so many proposing we "walk away"?
We've put in the hard yards, we're obviously making some progress and the fact is he'll be signing a whopper of a contract likely to be 5/6 years. Why on earth would we decide to give up on it a week before the window closes?
If you're bored of the transfer then I suggest you knock this thread on the head because there's every chance it'll carry on in a similar vein for the next 6 days. The only reason it's become boring in the first place is down to the regurgitated quotes and tweets that are posted at regular intervals.
We, as a club have said nothing, not a single thing. We've mentioned no price, as far as I know we haven't name checked him at all in the press. All the posturing has been done from their side so I'm not sure how the posters who think City are at fault for not completing the transfer are reaching their conclusions.
As for is he worth it? Of course he is, we've recognised a side of our game that needs improvement and KDB is the perfect player to offer us that. As well as Navas has started there are still weaknesses to his game and I think the club recognise that. For us to go further in all competitions our squad has to be super competitive. Having the likes of Navas and KDB vying for the spot on the right can only be a good thing.
Let this just play out without getting too distressed that it's not being done on your time frame and when it's completed sit back and watch us roll...

It is. Something weird is occurring behind the scenes but I still think the main problem is being caused by Wolfsburg's determination to drive a hard bargain, to possibly being a deal breaker. They'll be sorry when the Lord They God smites them all for being a load of greedy twats. .... as for KBD:-

DEMAND A TRANSFER OR SIGN AN EXTENSION WITH WOLFSBURG.
You're probably right with the weired goings on - though the fact that Wolfsburg don't need the money is probably the reason.

As to players and requesting transfers, they generally don't do it as they lose signing on fees and bpnus payments built into their contracts - even if the new contract would pay fir them in 3 or 4 months.

Is there not a small part of you that hopes we have some interest on deadline day? Not necessarily de bruyne but It's looking like it could be him or the mystery.

Just enjoy the ride and the yellow ties

wish people would stop saying this about silva, he was a fully fledged spanish international when we bought him playing at the highest level
and was one of the mainstays of the euro 2008 finals playing every game bar one when the whole 1st team we rested as they had qualified from their group
I was meaning more from a club perspective that he was untried at a higher level. International football is a different beast, Torres looked a player in 2008!

Can someone remind me why today is supposed to be the day? Not that I am holding my breath after all this time mind you...

Because someone somewhere has been saying today is the day for weeks. Now there less than a week to go you will get more and more people saying it until we get to Tuesday when everyone will say it. Come Wednesday nobody will say it!

I'll go for Monday ;-)
